Ex-Joint Chiefs Chairman Responsive After Stroke
http://edition.cnn.com/2004/US/08/11/general.stroke/

Retired Gen. John Shalikashvili, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and adviser to Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, is responsive and "looking good," a friend said, after being hospitalized last weekend for a brain hemorrhage.

Seems Shali is doing better. Just days ago, the General spoke at the DNC and proclaimed "I come to you tonight as a new democrat." I was so proud. I served while he was chairman. I've always thought he was a good man.

Make sure he and his family are in your thoughts.

1. THAT IS good news. Best wishes to you, Shali.
It sounded pretty grim earlier, so I'm pleased at this.

5. Keeping this one kicked...
... for any additional updates. Good to hear he's responsive -- from the initial reports things did not look good at all.
