Report critical of White House’s logging actions

.. The report, “This Land is Your Land,” focuses on 18 timber sales and one gas-development project that are moving forward in 13 states. Among the list of projects are several that would cause irreparable harm to old-growth forests, the report says.

In Oregon, the report highlights the 167-acre Solo timber sale in Mount Hood National Forest, where 250-year-old trees are scheduled to be clear-cut.

The Solo timber sale had been previously halted because of violations of the Northwest Forest Plan but is moving forward again because of new Bush administration rules.

We've logged all but 7% of the old growth in Oregon, let's finish the job. Just because tourists and kids think old growth is cool with it's weird creatures and ancient winding paths, think about the thousands of dollars we will make. If you want old growth, buy some property and wait 2 or 3 hundred years. Be patient.
