Diebold Upgraded to Buy

NEW YORK, August 11 (New Ratings) - Analyst Matt J Summerville of KeyBanc Capital Markets upgrades Diebold Incorporated (DBD.NYS) from "hold" to "buy," while raising his estimates for the company. The 12-month target price is set to $55.

1. Gee, I guess even Wall Street figures there's no secret here
anymore. I'm sure Diebold will be paid back handsomely once Bush is in office.

2. Diebold can't win in the long run.
this scandal is just to big. I'm surprised anybody would upgrade them. My tinfoil wonders if this is a downpayment.

Diebold hit a high of $57 Nov 3rd, shortly before California lit into them. The price then started a downward trend and is now trading at $46 (it dropped under $44 in May). If you look at the volume of shares traded, the highest volume has been when the price is falling.

At $46 the stock is trading where it did in 1998. Of course, if you adjust the $46 for inflation, the stock is trading at $42 in 1998 dollars.
