Kerry Targets Bush Over Halliburton
United Press International

Democrat John Kerry will use the controversy around the Halliburton oil service company as a plank in his campaign against U.S. President George Bush.

Kerry senior adviser Tad Devine said research from focus groups indicates it was a top of mind issue for voters, concerned with reports the company inadequately accounted for work in Iraq and Kuwait worth several billion dollars.

This month, Halliburton agreed to pay $7.5 million to settle charges arising from a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation into accounting practices during the time when Vice President Dick Cheney led the company. ..

The company has also been hit by a class-action lawsuit by shareholders alleging accounting fraud.

8. cheney has f*cked himself. More projection from the White House
These bums are going full time trying to project their faults on others. At least they are devoted to something other than power and money.

11. I wouldn't say that.
If they are projecting their faults onto others, they are trying to hold onto power, and money. So they are only devoted to money and power.

3. Good!
Jon Stewart made an awesome point the other night when Bill Clinton was his guest. He was talking about all of the scandals with Halliburton, many of which occured while Cheney was running the country, and he was like "Hello, Travelgate? FILEGATE???!!!" Such a huge deal was made out of these "scandals" that weren't really scandals, and yet when it happens to the Bush administration, it's just not made out to be a big deal.

5. As well he should - War profiteering by Cheney's old company
from whom he is still getting financial benefits - is a legitimate election issue. Tough noogies if Shrubbie doesn't like it.

6. I believe Halliburton bottom line was reason #2 why Rove & Co.
went to Iraq. #1 was to make * into a "war president".

at the gross expense of the American public?

Thanks for the info. Good news.

12. Why isn't there more outrage about Halliburton?
The evidence keeps growing and people don't seem to care. If a Democrat was involved, we'd have 24/7 coverage....remember Fox news and Gary Condit?

13. Pentagon Auditors show Halliburton losses 1.8 Billion
They are unable to account for this loss??????? What happened to the armored vehichles, vests, food, water, air-conditioner's (now 130%), etc., etc., etc., that the troops have never received. Where is the "Patriotic-Support the Troops," outcry from the Neocon's for this failure of Halliburton to adequately supply the troops. Who is actually benefitting from the billions and billions of taxpayer's funds......could it possibly be the very same chikenhawks that have now become WAR PROFITEERS......Dick Cheney and company.
Will the parents and families that have had to purchase vests, armor water, food, hygiene products, etc., be given a tax break for paying for Halliburton's theft.

15. Thanks for posting this,Nambe! I'm hoping beyond hope that this is
Kerry's way of opening the door to the PLAME outing relationship to Cheney/Halliburton profiting from selling WMD's across the world, and supplying parts and weapons to both sides of every conflict.

Once Kerry starts to open the Halliburton pandora's box, the whole bush crime family thing can start coming unravelled.

O8) Prayers for the continued safety and success of the Kerry/Edwards ticket! O8)
