Poll finds voters take a dim view of Bush handling of economy
WASHINGTON (AP)

A majority of Americans take a dim view of President Bush's handling of the economy and feel jobs are scarce, according to a poll released Thursday.

Two-thirds of Americans rate the economy as "only fair" or "poor" and 55% said they think jobs are difficult to find in the area where they live, according to a poll by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press.

"The most important thing about this poll is that there's not a lot of time left before the election and the public is still pretty bearish — or negative — about the nation's economy," said Andrew Kohut, director of the Pew Research Center. ..

Just four in 10 — or 42% — approve of Bush's handling of the economy, while 52% disapprove. ..

1. Bush is the Barney Fife of the Republican Party
If he can find a way to put a bullet in his own foot without removing the gun from the holster, he will do it.

Jimmy Carter had the Repubs and the Middle East do it to him. Bush has managed to "Carter" himself.

I definitely think they have colluded to keep Bush from teetering into the economic abyss as suggested here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x2204336

8. Hallelujah!!!
I thought nobody but me was noticing. The national media sure as hell is ignoring it. Over the last two weeks, the price of oil has risen about $7 a barrel, both prices (before & after) being record highs. In that same time span, the price of gasoline at my local gas station has gone down about ten cents per gallon. Having worked in the industry for a brief period, I know that it is against federal law to tamper or artificially set your prices for gasoline. That guy from the DU homepage, Dem_Strategist has it dead right. The biggest opponent of Kerry is not bush, it's the media. Fu@%!ng whores...

5. Great Post Nambe!
Thanks so much for sharing this.

Its good information; it confirms what I've been witnessing here in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Here in Cincinnati the local economy is not doing very well either and I'm seeing more Kerry bumper stickers than Bush bumper stickers.

10. Thats great news!!!
Course, here in Sunny California (SF East Bay) I'd say the ratio of Kerry to Bush bumper stickers I've seen so far is LITERALLY about 100-to-1. Which is to say, I've seen ONE Bush bumper sticker, and about 100 Kerry ones.

Very good news to hear that you're seeing more Kerry than Bush out there in Swingland, aka Ohio.
