Karen Hughes back on Bush's payroll
Let's welcome Karen back -- again. Her book tour last spring was cut short unexplainedly this spring, and she seemed to have disappeared from the face of the earth.

It happened right around the time she said that pro-choice people are like the terrorists, and protestors started showing up at all of her book signings. Coincidence?

WASHINGTON — The most important woman in President Bush's political life is back on the payroll as of today.

Longtime adviser and friend Karen Hughes traveled with Bush on the campaign trail this past week for the first time in the current election cycle.

Since bailing out of Washington and returning to Austin two summers ago, Hughes has been making trips back to the White House at least once a month to offer input and advice. For a year, she worked as a contract employee for the Republican National Committee. More recently, she's been a volunteer.

Now she is on the campaign's paid staff and will be on the campaign trail full-time through Election Day. It's the fourth time — including two gubernatorial races — that Hughes has been a close traveling companion with the campaigning Bush.

1. Another sign the campaign is in trouble
Bu$h always runs to Karen when he's in trouble.

Next Jim Baker will be making the rounds of the talking airhead shows.

10. That was obvious...
when Bush and the Cheney's locked on to the "S" word Kerry used in describing his policy for going to war..."Sensitive". You know they ran out of mud for the slinging when they build their speeches around an adjective taken out of context.

4. And you thought it was a slimy campaign now...
... Hughes will say ANYTHING if she feels it will bring her candidate up or put the opposition down.

Ugh.

6. Family not so important anymore, Karen?
I thought her son needed Mommy in his life. Well, if the boy grows up to be a criminal or a fruit, we'll know who to blame, right Rev. Falwell?

8. this was ALWAYS the plan
give her a little R & R while the BFEE "ran" the country, recharge the batteries for the campaign.

the book kind of surprised me, but 10 to 1 she only vetted the ghosting.

She never really went back to Texas anyway. She still spent half her time in D.C. or on the horn with the chimpster.

19. I can smell the hardwood of thought burning the . . .
late night candle as Karen Hughes again tries to "co-author" more stupidity for Dumbya . . . :boring:

==================================================
"Liberal court decisions had resulted in an unfair
legal system, tilted in favor of personal injury trial
lawyers, unfortunately making Texas a great place
for people to sue one another. I wanted Texas to
be a great place to do business, an entrepreneurial
heaven, where dreamers and doers felt comfortable
risking capital and creating jobs, not a haven for
frivolous lawsuits. — GWBush defining “Texas Justice”
as it cuts off plaintiffs rights in GWBush's presidential
campaign book, co-authored by Karen Hughes that was not
too subtly entitled A Charge to Keep (which, in turn, is
a quote from an Evangelical hymn "associated with a Bible
verse, 1 Corinthians 4:2: 'Now it is required that those
who have been given a trust must prove faithful.'),"
page 25.

20. She never "left"...
She just went back to Texas to "help" with the redistricting...she's an "undercover" person when he needs her to be..

She ha snever stopped "working" for him.. I'd like to have her bank records subpoaened if I had the power.. I would bet that she's been getting fat checks all along..

The book was just a segue back into the public eye..She hitched her wagon to * ages ago, and she's staying with him til the end..

21. When asked whether she'd "go back" for a second term
she waffled and said, well, you can't say no to the president. So much for family.

26. There is no doubt - her role
Why do we debate it? She's the polarizing figure in the famed remake of the Manchurian Candidate. Damn, it cracks me up that the radical right wingers would suggest Hillary when it's KAREN HUGES who fits this role to a tee.
