Man Says McGreevey Made Sexual Advances

TRENTON, N.J. - Gov. James E. McGreevey made repeated sexual advances toward his former homeland security adviser and has now made him the victim of a "smear campaign," a lawyer for the man said Friday.

"While employed by one of the most powerful politicians in the country, New Jersey Governor McGreevey, I was the victim of repeated sexual advances by him," Golan Cipel said in a statement read by attorney Allen M. Lowy during a news conference in New York.

Why couldn't Cipel read the statment himself? Surely there's nothing in it that could be held against him in a court of law. This guy is either a scorned lover or a blackmailed one. But I don't believe he's a BLACKMAILING one--he could have done this to McGreevey at any time over the past two and half years.

My guess is that GOP operatives "recommended" that Cipel file the lawsuit, which would not only ensure that McGreevey would resign, but would raise the question of whether the relationship was consensual, as McGreevey claims--and I now believe.

McG met him in Israel. Total stranger -- how long did this hot relationship have to come to a boil anyway? Guy comes to the US -- gets the NJ Homeland Security job. Apparently has few to no qualifications (aside from the fact that he's not even a US citizen).

So, how did this guy meet the Guv?

I want to know more (not the soap opera part thanks), because this just sounds fishy.

Did someone want to have a little, um, incident in NJ, and plant him to make sure there would not be any hitches?
