Former congressman discusses his book on Clinton impeachment
ALPHARETTA, Ga. - For Bob Barr, it's crucial to set history straight, especially when it comes to the impeachment of President Clinton.

(snip)

His book, "The Meaning of Is: The Squandered Impeachment and Wasted Legacy of William Jefferson Clinton," was published in mid-July.

(snip)

He says Clinton's ignorance of national security issues and handling of campaign finance issues "should have been the basis for impeachment" even earlier than the Monica Lewinsky case that ultimately led to the proceedings.

He also says Republican leaders in Congress worked to leave Clinton in office despite his impeachment because they felt it was better to do so.

"It politically was better to leave a weakened Bill Clinton in office than have a politically stronger Al Gore," Barr said.

1. In other words the whole impeachment was a sham. And what did it cost?
I am amazed Barr would have the effrontery to say what he said. The whole damn lot of them involved should be impeached. Including Barr. Was Barr asked if it was better for the country to have a "weakened Bill Clinton in office"? Some Patriot!!

2. Published in July and this is the first I've heard of it
Is Barr still tight enough with the religious nutjob base of the republican party for certain anonymous groups of them to buy his book in bulk so as to get it on the best sellers list like they do with every Ann Coulter book?

4. Bob Barr started calling for his impeachment the moment he came to office.
Barr is an insufferable, vicious, twisted semi-resemblance of a human being.

8. Bob Barr does not drink the koolaid
he pisses and sweats it!
I watched his recent ACLU speach... half of him
is an insufferable party hack, the other half is grovelling and begging for absolution.

What an incredibly sick human being.

12. He must have multiple personalities
because I also saw the ACLU speech.

That Bob Barr - a card-carrying member of the ACLU -- sounded positively liberal in his stinging attacks on the Bush Administration's secrecy and assault on civil liberties.

I thought perhaps he now had second thoughts on the impeachment.

But, no, the only explanation is multiple personality disorder.

6. Gary Aldrich & Bob Barr started trying to impeach
Clinton the minute he was elected. Aldrich worked at the White House - was Clinton in danger from this spy and his circle of nutcases - I think the entire Clinton family probably was.

7. I love this. "Clinton's ignorance of national security issues."
Yeah. When Clinton left office, we NOT ONLY had prosperity, LEGIONS more people employed - making at least halfway decent wages, we had peace in the world, more or less, and enemy factions in different countries were at least TALKING to each other, rather than simply shooting each other.

This guy is an absolute, tin-plated, pointy-headed, flea-bitten, garbage-eating jackass.

10. He can't live outside the spotlight
so he's been suffering since his primary defeat. Now, he'll get a few more moments in the TV glare he craves. Barr is a buffoon. I don't think he realizes there's not as much money left on the Clinton-bashiing money train. He waited too long. The Big Dog is looking better and better as time goes by. And his professional bashers are looking more and more pathetic.

13. We know where Bill Clinton is. Revered by many and in demand.
Where is Bob Barr?

Where are some of the other Congressional assassinators?

Trying to raise their voices?

Did Regenery publish Barr's book? Or was it Harper-Collins?

And, oh yeah, where are the Clinton accusers and those who were assassination weapons of Bill destruction? We know where Scaife is - still dishing out his money - this time against Kerry, so it's said.
