US air raid on Falluja kills women, children

<snip>
A US air strike destroys two homes and kills women and children in Falluja following an exchange of gunfire with Iraqi resistance fighters on the outskirts of the city.

Eight Iraqis were killed and 10 others wounded, mostly women and children, on Saturday after US troops clashed with resistance fighters in Falluja and warplanes struck two homes, hospital sources said.

"We have received eight killed and 10 injured," said doctor Ali Khamis at Falluja's general hospital, adding that the dead included two women and two children.

US occupation sources said earlier they struck positions suspected of being used by resistance fighters after a marine post on the outskirts of the city came under heavy machine gun fire and rocket-propelled grenade attacks.

3. So which is it:
The "terrorists hiding among the civilians" excuse?

Translation: "They all look alike to me. Just blow some shit up."

Or

The "We only meant to kill terrorists" excuse?

Translation: "WTF were all those women and children doing
there in that residential neighborhood?
"

4. Not good
but there is precedent. Overacting bombings in WWII, Vietnam, earlier than that Mexico ...etc.

Translation: "WTF were all those women and children doing
there in that residential neighborhood?"

Living there, oops, dying there.

6. Plenty of precedent to be sure.
It's the sanctimony that annoys me the most.

Sometimes that one is phrased as: "We don't intentionally
target innocents." Like the bomb gives a fuck what your
intentions are. Precision bombing is an oxymoron, and the
people that use the things have no excuse for not knowing that.

5. This is terrorism and the USA has done this for decades...
...starting in WW II against Germany (Dresden) and Japan, and then on and on through Vietnam and now Iraq.

The right thing to do would be to go to these homes with soldiers and fight their way in. This bombing is cowardly terrorism and the sole purpose is to scare the civilians so bad they won't aid the insurgents. They will think if they help the insurgents their house will be next.

It's evil.

10. Colateral damage.
Nice phrase for killing innocent people.

It's bullhsit! The commanders know damn well that this type of ordinance will kill and maim innocent people. They flat out don't give a damn about it!

How many innocent women and children have been slain on the premise that "we suspected" blah, blah?

13. I am not proud of my country under GWB. He in no way repre-
sents American values. If he wins again, I am not sure I can stay here for 4 more years.

15. Unlike Najaf...
Capturing Fallujah and removing the threat of Sunni terrorists and combatants is necessary to our mission in Iraq. Sunnis are the ones who have consistently been disruptors of the creation of a government in Iraq. Sadr has never seemed to be a part of that.

16. so the US should....
bomb the hell out of Falluja again?... Yeah that will help. If you have not noticed the Sunni and Shiaa are uniting, at least for now, to oust the US occupiers.
