Edwards responds back to Cheney's criticism of Kerry

<Cheney told voters in Ohio Thursday that Kerry had called for a "more sensitive" war on terror and mocked that notion as something that won't impress the Sept. 11 terrorists.

Edwards, returning to the campaign after a three-day break, took issue with Cheney's comments and his target -- Democratic presidential nominee Kerry, a decorated Vietnam War veteran.

"He took that word and distorted and tried to use it to argue John Kerry will not keep the American people safe," Edwards said during a campaign stop in Flint. "He's talking about a man who still carries shrapnel in his body. He's talking about a man who spilled his blood for the United States of America."

Edwards' visit to Flint focused on issues polls show are even higher than security on Michigan voters' list of concerns: jobs and the economy.

"What it is is an effort to distract, not to talk about the problems here in Flint, Michigan," the North Carolina senator told the audience of more than 1,000, who gathered in a drizzling rain outside Mott Community College.>

that in all wars while some people are bleeding and dying others are profiting. Dick Cheney has benefited more in more wars than almost anyone else.

Whatever Dick Cheney has done, or not done, in his political career pales in comparison to his treatment of his daughter, Mary. If you spend a few minutes lurking on Freerepublic.com, or just hanging around any randomly selected group of Republicans, you will learn that homosexuals are totally despised by rand and file Republicans. Dick Cheney is undoubtedly well aware of his. Rather than use the considerable influence his position as a party leader gives him, he makes no effort to change people's minds. One word from Cheney would bring the anti-homosexual attacks on freerepublic.com to an end but Cheney will not utter this word. He simply does not care that it is his daughter that his minions are attacking.

Mary Cheney is a sad character. She desperately wants the love of her father and so works on his campaign but she will never get true love. Dick Cheney will tolerate her presence and even reward her financially but will never defend her by standing up to the bigots in the Republican Party. He is a coward, a failure as a father and a failure as a human being. It is no surprise at all that during a time of war such a timid human being would have had "other priorities". This nation needs leaders with courage, honor and integrity and these are qualities that Dick Cheney lacks.
