'Flynted' again
'Flynted' again

Larry Flynt, the smut peddler whose name became a verb when he went after adulterous politicians, returns to the podium, shaking his fist at corruption, dishonesty and hypocrisy.

BY HOWARD COHEN

Knight Ridder News Service

Larry Flynt is a hustler, and we're not just talking about his raunchy magazine of the same name. When Flynt gets riled up, nothing — not paralysis from a would-be assassin's bullet, not the courts, not crusaders — dissuades him from spreading the gospel as he sees it.

And what Flynt has seen in America over the past six years or so disgusts him. His new book, "Sex, Lies & Politics: The Naked Truth," broadsides the Bush administration, bashing Florida's botched election in 2000; what he sees as the lies that got the nation embroiled in Iraq; the religious right's influence over the presidency; the swelling deficit; and a president he calls "the most accomplished, bold-faced hypocrite ever to have come down Pennsylvania Avenue."

Flynt, 61, is not what you might expect. Speaking from the road in Cincinnati, the creator of Hustler, beloved and reviled for its graphic nudes, filthy cartoons and "A—hole of the Month" columns, appears to be polite and friendly. He's hard to understand sometimes; his drawl flows out like a mile of unpaved highway. But he speaks his mind without hysteria.

it's a no holes barred, bare-assed (LOL) indictment of the Bush bastards. A great read and an easy one too.

2. Well, since I see the same things that Larry
Flynt does...I hope he sells millions of Books!

I see this as immense help from "smut peddler who cares"!

Heck, we even have Howard Stern on our side now.

3. I gotta say...
Knight Ridder is doing some remarkably good work lately- maybe always, I just started noticing with the Iraq coverage.

This article tells the story respectfully, with clarity and actually does go to "both sides" in revealing Flynt's rep. In comparison, they make CNN look like a side show.

Are there bombshells in this book that aren't covered here?

4. Larry Flynt and Dwight Yoakam
....both of these guys came from the same backround...the big migration of "briars" from the southern appalachians to work in the factorys of Ohio.

These guys where also Flynts customers, at his strip clubs.

5. I've heard the book is great and an easy read ... go Flynt !
We need more of his level of honesty and outrage.

6. I Heard Rumors of Some Juicy Photos
in Flynt's possession...something about homoerotic rituals at Skull & Bones. It's understandable why Flynt would be loath to release such holdings, since the last guy rumored to have similar photos died from an anthrax-gram mailed to his office.

I thought he knew about a girlfriend that bush had years ago.
Heard that Bush made her have an abortion, what happened to that story?

10. it hasn't been 'officially released' but
... in an interview with a Madison WI paper a couple weeks ago discussing this new book, he pretty much laid it out there for anyone reading the book review to see.

A bit o'sly fact dropping by Mr. Flynt, IMO ... its out there for general consumption and/or a whispering campaign.

:)

17. not 'officially released' ? Funny, I got it over a month
ago and yes, Flynt talks about the Bush abortion story. Everyone in Bush's circle knows it's true but won't/can't talk in a way that Flynt could publish without massive legal problems. The BFFE tentacles reach far and wide and they're deadly!

11. He couldnt confirm it..
...the woman in question appears to have been "set up" (nice house, $$$, relocated to a new town) by someone in Texas, so wouldnt play ball w. Flynt anymore.

12. Why does our side have to confirm it?

The rethugs will floart any boat they lie like rugs.

And folks .... people believe them.

What was the ladies name and where does she live?

If the shoe was on the other foot, they would be hauling her out and making her explain all that she knew. They would be getting her best friend to "remember" stuff.

We are soooo nice.

Where does NICE get us on Nov. 3rd?

14. They Own The News
So their outrageous charges appear on the news and are believed,
and whatever we say, true or not, confirmed or not, is not.

16. Here's a good summary.
http://www.democrats.com/display.cfm?id=159

Was George W. Bush "Involved"
in an Illegal Abortion??

Read our archives

Join the investigation

On CNN's Crossfire on October 20, 2000, Larry Flynt exploded a bombshell: that he has evidence that George W. Bush was "involved in an abortion in Texas" in the early 1970's - when abortions were still illegal.

Here are the details, as reported by Bartcop: <more>

The timeline is important, too. Pre-Roe v Wade, so was an actual crime.

24. Not a good idea to put any credence in what Bartcop says
I remember a few years ago, he claimed that Mariah Carey was a rightwinger because of some things she supposedly said about starving kids which turned out to be a hoax. There's also the fact that I don't believe she's ever made political comments of any kind one way or the other. I pointed out in an e-mail that the remarks supposedly made by her were, in fact, a hoax and that he ought to remove them from his site. He e-mailed back that he didn't care if anything on his site were true or not, he was just in it for entertainment. He's a leftwing Rush Limbaugh. Frankly, since then, I've stopped believing anything he has on his site.

I got a copy of Flynt's book from our local library and yes, he does devote some time to the Bush abortion story. He makes no claims about the woman in question being underaged at the time however. He also has some interesting commentary about Jessica Lynch.

23. Larry Flynt's campaign contributions (complete history)
This is interesting, becuase he was a Republican all the way up to Clinton. Then he switched sides in a big way.
