CNN: Democratic ticket hits Bush's corporate ties
KETCHUM, Idaho (AP)

Presidential nominee John Kerry and other Democrats are accusing President Bush of stacking the federal government with friends and donors who are gutting regulations on U.S. corporations.

Kerry, running mate John Edwards and supporters are stressing a theme this week that they've been campaigning on all year -- Bush puts corporate interests ahead of workers and the middle class.

Bush campaign spokesman Steve Schmidt said Kerry has no standing to criticize, considering that the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics determined he has received more campaign contributions from lobbyists over the years than any other senator. Schmidt also pointed out that Edwards, a North Carolina senator, refused to release the names of his top fund-raisers.

"There is a great deal of hypocrisy in these attacks," Schmidt said. ..

2. Where you get your money from
I’d love to get this started.

“He does it too. He does it too.”

I am sure Kerry has received money…who hasn’t in the Government.

At the best, we will prove Bush to be up to his eyeballs in cronyism and corruption, at the “worst” it will showcase the façade of American politics and the amount of money that controls MANY of our politicians.

A great case can be made for all corporate lobbyists to get the hell out. They have no rights to do this…An “activist” Supreme Court gave them these rights in 1886. Screw off Republicans.

3. Why is it that the Repub rebuttal takes up most of the top of the article?
Once again the media manages to turn the story around to immediately find fault with Kerry and dilute/neutralize the strength of Kerry's message. Once again 'It's a wash'.

5. Need to push talk about how the GOP controlled Congress rolls over
and passes whatever legislation Big Business wants too. Need to get the voters to see how the country has been pulled out from under them so we can get some new energy in Congress.

Having Kerry in the WH won't solve much if we don't give him a Congress also interested in restoring America to the American people.

And scan LTTE in your papers for those 'Heinz ketchup made in Mexico' propaganda bites. Write back every time and point out that the Heinz Co is not controlled by John Kerry's wife and that the Heinz Co. gives more $$ to Republicans than to DEMS. This has to be done every damned time some kool-aid-oholic or political trickster mentions the Heinz Company.

6. The Washington Post is running a series on exactly this.
Front-page coverage is devoted to how lobbyists and corporate America make the rules, not scientists. Remember that the next time the infernal chimp makes some snotty comment about "junk science." This is the administration who won't discuss condom use (except for failure rates) and wants women to think they'll get breast cancer for having had an abortion.

This is a demonic administration.

7. Here is a link to LBN posting of the 2nd of that series, with link to 1st
in a response. This series is front-paged, and excellent. The press does a disservice when they always have the other side presented, as in this article. Some things are JUST PLAIN WRONG, as the Wash. Post exposes in this series. Money, in exchange for influence that endangers peoples' health and safety, is WRONG, no matter what some RNC spokesman says.
