About sixty papers carry Bush form letter
Sixty papers carry Bush form letter

Daily Kos has discovered that the Bush/Cheney campaign has duped at least sixty newspapers into printing a form letter (word for word) that the campaign has made available on their website. The letter reads:

New job figures and other recent economic data show that America’s economy is strong and getting stronger - and that the President’s jobs and growth plan is working. The Labor Department announced that employers added 288,000 new jobs in April. In total, over 1.1 million jobs have been added since August, with 8 consecutive months of gains.

That entire phrase, copied and searched in Google, produces about 60 newspapers which have run the letter using the exact Bush/Cheney phrasing.

Bush used a similar fake letter-writing campaign in January 2003, Political Wire notes.

2. The Newspapers Apparently Don't Learn Either
and I guess Bush supporters are also stupid. It doesn't take much imagination to change the text of a form letter just a little bit...What "morans"...

4. The Busheviks have struck upon an Abiding Principle of Totalitarianism
When a Free People lack the courage, the conviction, and the numbers, relative to Totalitarian Followers, then a Civilized nation cvan be 'flooded' with all sorts of nonsense, Pravda, and Orwellianism, and there simply aren't enough Free Citizens left to man the bailing buckets to save the Ship of Liberty.

Trotsky amplified on this with his notion of "perpetual Revolution" and of course Hitler used these same overall techniques to flood Germany with Nazi Propaganda and Lies.

The Busheviks have simply taken it to the next level, and many of their Brownshirts follow the Cookie-Cutter Plan for Lies, FOR THE SAME REASON THE ORIGINAL BROWNSHIRTS DID IT. HATRED OF OTHERS AND A LUST FOR UNCHECKED POWER.

And there aren't enough Free Citizens left to debunk all the lies coming so fast and furiously from so many driections.

In other words, a minority of Amerikans, have done as Hitler's Minority did before them.

And just as in Nazi Germany, there seem to be more poeple now who believe in Hatred and Fear of Others than Liberty.

Which is, as Ben Franklin predicted quite correctly 217 years ago, the End of the American Republic.

The End.

9. The media in this fricking country is a joke!
Which is why I had to smile at the hackers planning to disrupt GOP sites. Apparently democracy is quite the riot, these days.

Or as one book puts it, everything you know is wrong. Why should I respect anything I read anymore? Anything? LIARS and propaganda shills.

11. I wrote to 3 of those papers
letting them in on the fact, after I ready Kos, that they were publishing astroturf. It was fun. They are most mostly really small papers, though, where the basically publish every letter that comes their way.

12. This Astroturf is total bullshit.
I've written three papers about letters they published that came directly from the "click and build" section of the Bush website. .... http://www.georgewbush.com/GetActive/WriteNewspapers.aspx?aid=37

Not one of them responded or corrected or made any statement about having published Astroturf.

This shit is easy to find, too.... just Google a sentence with quotes around it. Takes about 15 seconds. Which sentence? Pick one that sounds like Rove wrote it for tranmission directly into the Bushbots' brain.

I guess the American press has been so pussified they want to be sure they don't actually investigate anything.

13. I guess that the GOP has a real knack for writing letters
to the editor that appeal to the editor.
