4. Actually probably good news.
That's my district. Robinson WAS "beatable", but just barely (and only if the bad blood inside the republican camp wasn't healed by November).

We would still be very likely to lose. And having Robinson in the House would be damaging. The guy is a bomb-thrower. Foxx may actually vote with us on occasion.

5. Respectfully disagree
Even if elected, having an embarrasing lunatic represent the GOP is a good thing. This guy was trainwreck waiting to happen. People like former rep Bob Dornan do more damage to the GOP than top the Dems. I like seeing crazy GOPers because no one takes them seriously and they make the rest of the party look bad.

2. Even if he called himself the black Jesse Helms,
the repugnantcans are not voting for a black man. Someone may appoint him to some post (a la Rice and Powell), but he'll never be elected.

3. surprised if he ever gets appointed
he was out there, that is why he was beatable. I'm surprised Bush (per vernon robinson's claim) ever hired him. And even surprised he got 45%

Hopefully people will keep copies of his radio ads, tv ads and quotes in case he shows up somewhere.

Robinson says suspect is fair game-newspaper

http://www.journalnow.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=WS...

He has not been charged with terrorism-related activities. A spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office said that Akhtar is still under investigation.

In the ad, Robinson says that Akhtar "came here to kill you,'' and only he would shut down the Mexican border.

Robinson said at yesterday's press conference that Akhtar could be one of three things: a tourist, an architecture student or a terrorist. "I think it's fair game," to call Akhtar a terrorist, he said. Asked if his ad violates Akhtar's right to a fair trial, Robinson said he would let the voters decide.
