Republican state lawmaker condemns ad attacking Kerry's war record

The Republican chair of the Assembly's Veterans Committee is condemning a Republican allied group's ads in Wisconsin attacking John Kerry's war record. Rep. Terry Musser says the Bush campaign should condemn the ads and call for them to be pulled. "I just don't think it's appropriate to try and belittle the service of anybody who served," Musser said, "Again, I don't care where they served." Musser says he agrees with Republican Senator John McCain that the ads attacking Kerry's Vietnam war service are dishonest and dishonorable. "Yeah, I agree with him," Musser said...Musser wants all veterans to "cease and desist" from attacking each other's service records for political reasons. Musser says if the bush-Cheney campaign hasn't, it should urge the group running attack ads against John Kerry's military service record to pull the ads.

1. It's good to see some level of civility.
People should be getting sick of this.

3. They probably will, but not until they have run for several weeks.

Then they will feign indignation and outrage. Thus any new attempts to confirm Bush's AWOL status (which is the real story in all of this isn't it?) will be stymied.

5. Another one of many. They are so adept at turning the tables and

accusing someone else of what they're guilty of. Just like their cutting of programs. They go out and say how great this program is, and they're cutting funding on it the same day they're touting it. They unfortunately know how little the vast majority of people pay attention to what really goes on.

6. saw the ad on CNN and the comment was made...why in the hell do
they want to put the two military records on the table?

Jeff Greenfield wondered seemed to think that these stupid vets against Kerry are not friends of george.

This is going to backfire...shrub does not have any credibility on this issue...so...bring the ads on..you stupid people!

Kind of reminds me of Rudy Boschiwictz (sp) who ran against Wellstone the first time he won a senate seat. Rudy could have won it was a close race. But he tried to turn the Jewish voters against Wellstone, and it backfired. Sent a letter out and if I recall correctly said Wellstone was a "bad Jew" for marrying a Christian. Mn still had sense then though.

8. Good for Rep. Terry Musser
Wish more of his party would do the honorable thing and take that stand too.

9. This is good, hopefully more will call for the same. Good timing with
Kerry condemning the MoveOn ad. Shrub's continued silence will becoming deafening to anyone paying attention.
