Fort Wayne airport closed after substance spills from bag
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – A substance spilled from a bag being unloaded Wednesday at the Fort Wayne International Airport, causing at least one airport worker to report feeling ill and causing authorities to close the airport.

Six people were undergoing decontamination at the airport, Fort Wayne television station WPTA reported. It was not immediately clear whether any passengers were among those decontaminated.

The bag was being unloaded from an American Eagle flight from Chicago, airport spokeswoman Sandra Lux said. The bag belonged to a doctor from Lebanon who was not on the flight, she said.

FBI agents joined in the investigation, but Wendy Osborne, a spokeswoman for the agency’s Indianapolis office, declined to comment until she had confirmation from agents at the scene.

1. I thought...
That they would only fly people's bags on when the people themselves were on the flight???

2. That's so ancient history!
Most all of those security measures have been dropped.

Kinda sad...the level of desperation there. Seems they are rooting for a quasi-legit terror scare to prop up the pResident...not much else to work with, i suppose:

"Nothing on Fox News yet....they are talking about the Swiftboat Vets.

If they run it, it is a great 1-2 punch. If there is a legitimate threat here, it should mobilize folks to support the President who is viewed as being strong on terror.

I guess I should not be posting until at least two cups of tea have been consumed. Looks like Fox has been talking about it from what I see from other posts. If there is a legitimate threat here, it will help to make Kerry look like a loser once again......wasn't he the one that said that Bush has been "exaggerating" about the terror threat? Hope everyone is ok at the airport. What I'd like to know is where is the middle eastern doctor???"

4. Looks like it was a perfume ingredient.
A rare essential oil from the mideast. If you have ever smelled some of the things that go inter perfume in their undiluted, unmixed form, you would know why the ramp workers got sick!
