Deputy logged Perry speeding on his Harley
Trailing security car was stopped; no ticket issued

AUSTIN - Gov. Rick Perry hopped on his Harley-Davidson one July weekend and went on a scenic ride — at speeds estimated up to 75 or 80 mph, according to a constable's account released Wednesday.

A Travis County deputy constable who spotted, but didn't recognize, Perry cruising on scenic, hilly Southwest Parkway on July 3 didn't pursue him to issue a ticket but pulled over a trailing security car instead, which also wasn't ticketed.

Perry's office denied the governor was speeding in the 55 mph zone, and the deputy's report indicated the motorcycle wasn't clocked on radar.

(snip)

Deputy Constable Bill Schlueter, who filed the report, was unavailable for comment Wednesday, and his boss, Constable Drew McAngus, declined to discuss the incident.

1. These guys just make the laws...................
they don't apply to them. What would this country be like if every elected official was treated the same as their constituents? Be serious, Democracy doesn't work that way.

Gore gets speeding ticket while traveling in Oregon
Former vice president polite, trooper says

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

ASTORIA, Ore. -- Former Vice President Al Gore was cited for speeding as he drove a rented car to visit family on the coast, authorities said.

Gore, who was alone, was issued a $141 ticket for driving 75 mph on state Route 26 in the northwest corner of the state, police said. The speed limit is 55.

Well, gosh, lookit that. 75 in a 55. Sound familiar? Kids, check your local paper tomorrow. If they run one story without the other, call them and chew them out.

5. Dewhurst better get ready
to be sworn in. Perry's liable to wind up roadkill any day now.

Goodhair is the first governor in our state's history to be a graduate of Texas A&M University, home of Poppy Bush's library and run by Poppy's CIA director.
