2. Yes, yes, yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been a nervous wreck for the past week thinking they were going to pull a "Dukakis" on the Swiftboat Liars.

Remember boys & girls: responding to the lies in a negative ad is NOT "going negative".

4. Better late than never, I suppose.
They'll have to start responding a lot more rapidly than this.

After 30 years of fighting these guys you would think they would have been prepared for what was coming.

On the other hand, did anyone expect the media to take up this cause as their own?

When Kerry used to fight these guys, I doubt the entire media was even close to as right wing as they are now.

It's almost like the media has become an honorary member of the Swift Boat Liars team.

13. CNN's spin was that Kerry had to use
his Federal money to pay for the ad. So the Swift Boat attackers were successful in that they forced Kerry to spend money he got from the Federal government.

Kerry is not able to spend money he has personally raised now because he has accepted his party's nomination. The ONLY money he can spend is federal money.

Bush can spend all he wants of money he raised until he accepts his party's nomination.

Once again, the Repubs are being bullies. They set the date of their convention (and nomination of Bush)so late that a number of states had to change their laws to put Bush on the ballot. (Some states had laws requiring that the nominees must be named before Labor Day.)

Now the Repubs are complaining because the soft money ads are leveling the playing field. They aren't happy unless they have a 2-1 or 3-1 advantage.

9. Paying for truth
It's incredible that our media have gotten so sorry that the Kerry campaign has to buy airtime to refute these lies. If the journalists (exception: Washington Post) would do their jobs, it wouldn't be necessary to pay for TV ads to get the truth out.

11. Damned right. If that ISN'T a part of their work as they see it
they should all be fired and replaced by competent journalists who actually can do the needed assignments honorably and professionally.

What ELSE can they believe is more necessary than being the public "watchdog?" Good lord almighty.
