Gov. Bush might skip GOP Convention
Gov. Jeb Bush might skip the Republican National Convention later this month, or cut short his time there, because of Hurricane Charley.

"I don't know yet. My inclination is to certainly shorten my trip," Bush said Wednesday. "Really, I want to see how the process goes. My first responsibility is to do my job. So I'm not sure.... I think I've probably got enough work to do."

Bush declined comment on some speculation that his brother, President Bush, was pursuing Florida's 27 electoral votes when he visited storm-ravaged areas of Southwest Florida last weekend. His father, the first President Bush, was criticized in 1992 for some federal agencies responding too slowly after Hurricane Andrew.

(snip)

Bush said Secretary of State Glenda Hood will have "a plan of action" within a few days for conducting the Aug. 31 primaries in the stricken areas. Hood held a conference call with more than 60 county elections supervisors Monday, and those in some counties hardest hit by Charley are assessing whether polling places will have to be consolidated or relocated.

18. Bush begins weeklong stay at Texas ranch
... The president is scheduled to be at his Central Texas ranch for about one week, taking a break from re-election appearances. It's his 38th presidential trip to his ranch ...

2. Hmmm, Jeb might stay home and work on hurricane relief
Well, that would certainly be the responsible thing to do. Which makes me wonder what they're up to.

3. Bush doesn't want any reminders of FL 2000
especially since they're going to try stealing it again in 2004.

5. So Jenna & Barb are out
Now Jeb can't make it. Don't want poppy around because it will just remind everyone who really is in charge. Who the heck's going to be left standing at the end for the balloon drop?

6. Well, there's always Zig Zag
My take on the story that Zell Miller is going to put Stupidhead's name up for nomination at the convention is: What, they had to go to the mental ward of the Democratic party to find someone to do it? Nobody in his own party wants to leave his fingerprints on this?

12. They're not speaking at the convention
They are hosting a first daughters party after the convention.

Pickles said that since they are just out of college and won't be speaking, that they shouldn't be compared to Kerry's older daughters. Of course, she forgot to mention the fact that Edward's college age daughter did speak.

That adorable ten year old spoke at the Democratic Convention.
Is Pickles telling me that you can not speal publicly until years after college?

8. PRESIDENT Bush will skip it, too!
I predict that "security concerns" will be the excuse for Bush delivering his acceptance speech via videotape on the huge Diamondtron screen, ala the Apple "Big Brother" commercial from 1984.

16. Jeb going to be busy

There is an election to rig.

Voter roles to be purged.

BBV machines to be hacked (and TESTED!).

Money to spread around for "Hurricane" damage.

Yup, ol' Jeb boy is going to be one busy little Bushista for
the next few weeks, can't take time out for a non-event like
the RNC.
