1. Uh... try upwards of 40 percent
"That's about 20 percent of his presidency. Add in his time at Camp David and the Bush family home in Kennebunkport, Maine, and the percentage more than doubles. And the White House is self-conscious about it."

5. He needs a vacation from campaigning?
Bush Campaigns in St. Paul
Veterans for Kerry Stage Counter-Rally
Lauren Kalb

This is actually President Bush's third trip to Minnesota in a little over a month.

He was in Mankato on August 4 and in Duluth on July 13.

17. Actually, W rarely sleeps anywhere
other than the WH, Camp David and Crawford. Only when he has to go overseas or this year for the G8 conference, does W ever do sleep overs. No matter where W is in the US, he heads for his own bed almost every night.

Except for one time that I know about. The night of 9-10-01.

36. And don't forget his special pillow
You might recall that it was revealed in 2001 that * has a favorite pillow and can't sleep without it. Whenever he has to overnight anywhere the pillow goes along with him. He's even given the pillow a name, "Pilly."

Ah, if we could only turn back the clock to those early days of *'s administration, pre 9/11, when he was regarded by a majority of the public as something of a joke and Comedy Central could air a weekly series making fun of him.

14. Possible explanation
Someone pointed out in a much earlier thread that, at the White House, visitors to the Oval Office are a matter of public record. At the pig farm, secret visits are possible and no one is the wiser. Now, who could be visiting our little chimp?

19. CBS has come down hard on Bush
and I am so glad.

CNN, on the other hand, is shilling for Bush. I saw Inside Edition today and they had these words on the screen Swift Boat Squabble. They are totally ignoring the fact that the attackers are liars.

I am so mad I could scream.

Why should anyone ever volunteer again when true heroes like Max Cleland and John Kerry get attacked by liars? And Chickenhawks like Cheney and Bush get away with it? I think Tucker Carlson should be fighting in Iraq right now. I'd love to see that snotty nosed brat take the consequences of his right wing philosophy.

28. What a weird "news story" -- the end sounds like an editorial
In every administration the question is raised: does the president take too much vacation? But would the nation be better off if he took less?

And doesn't the president need to recharge his batteries like anybody else?

It's not the amount of George Bush's vacation time that John Kerry is running against. Or the president's work habits. It's his decisions and policies.

I do not remember questions ever being raised about how much vacation time a President was taking, except for Reagan--most Presidents have worked incredibly long, hard days, too, unlike the lazy Chimperor.

And does this dumbass really think there is no connection between Dumbya's "decisions and policies" and his diligence, efficiency, and CHARACTER?

29. I'll bet each trip is $1,000,000
That's one out of every five days.
And with the entourage of people who follow him, I can easily imagine a one day cost of a million. Unfuckingbelievable.

The framers would have tarred and feathered this whistleass.

32. What about his early bed time?

How many executives actually go to bed at 9 pm?

If we calculated that the normal bedtime for an active person is,,, would you say 11 PM, how many more hours does he do NOTHING for us. The early bed time is like a vacation to me.

Even if he is having the Queen to dinner, he is quick to tell every body that he must leave to go to bed. How insulting!
