Jackson offered "abuse boy house"
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/3582138.stm

"Michael Jackson offered to give the boy at the centre of his child molestation case a house and college funds, the child's stepfather has said in court.

The man, who was not identified, told a pre-trial hearing in California on Thursday the singer wanted the family to take part in a video praising him.

He said a "gentleman from Neverland", the singer's ranch, made the offer."

It is hard to keep track who is sicker. Alan Keyes, Michelle Malkin, John Ashcroft or Micheal Jackson. At least for the #2 slot. we all know who is #1.

2. can't anyone write clear copy anymore?
The headline for that article is ridiculously phrased.

Seriously, in the last few months I've noticed that the grammar and lucidity in general in the mainstream press have taken a turn for the worse.

Has anyone else noticed that?

3. I know. Did someone offer Jackson a house in which to abuse boys?
That was my first interpretation.

9. good one. But I get the idea
that he really doesn't understand what he is doing wrong.
After all he has millions of dollars, millions of fans, and he has millions of tiny, tender loving needs.
Trust me, it won't hurt much, not with this lube.

Maybe he should become a priest in some church.

10. no, the level of clarity in news reports and editorials
has left a lot to be desired. Even in NYT.

7. Even the New York Times,
the "paper of record", is in on it. They constantly misuse apostrophes. They ran a story recently about SUVs, but throughout the whole thing they rendered it as "SUV's". I mean, come on. No one caught that. NO ONE? Not one reporter? Not one editor? None of them know the diff between a plural and a possessive?
