Stop putting it off... The time to donate to DU is now!

Today is Friday. It's no secret that this week is our third quarter fund drive. Every time you've come to DU this week, there have been obvious reminders. We've got a big yellow box at the top of our our homepage; we've got a big thermometer at the top of every page; we interrupt you when you try to click into the forums or our articles; we even have a ?robot">crazy robot who trolls around groveling for money.

Admit it: You've been planning to donate all week, but you keep putting it off. You keep seeing interesting things to read, or posts that you want to reply to first, and you keep telling yourself that you're going to donate later.

Maybe you were just procrastinating. Maybe you were waiting to get your paycheck. (Today is Friday, you know. :)) Maybe you were waiting because you want to make donation #1000 to put us over the top. Whatever your reason for waiting...

Please take a moment to stop what you're doing and take a minute to donate to DU.

Our need is still as great as it has always been. It still costs more than $13,000 per month to run this place. That's a lot of money, but if we all donate a little, then we can easily cover it.

How important is DU to you? Isn't DU worth a few bucks every few months? Could you imagine life without DU?

8. DU sent packages to my kid in Iraq, they helped save my oldest son

from being stop lossed and getting his honourable discharge...
I donated, I owe a lot to the people on here, because of what they have done for my family..DU is full of the warmest, most caring people I have met on the web, and some, I have talked to on the phone..
It is a real community, and if I hadnt had it when Michael was taken to Iraq, or when my other son was almost taken, I would have not made it thru as well as I have..

11. The only bad thing about Kerry winning

is that most DU-ers will believe their work is done and attendance will sink like a stone. But we'll still have a Bush gang to convict and policies of theirs to reverse. And of course we have to devote ourselves to keeping the Kerry gang honest!

14. With a Kerry win, the GOP will immediately go on the attack...

and begin hounding him, ala the Gingrich gang with CLinton in the 90's. We'll still have plenty of things to motivate us to keep coming to DU, as well as keeping the pressure on. THANKS DU for everything. MKJ
