More Republican Ties Revealed Behind "Swift Boat Vets For Bush",
Says Kerry Campaign

To: National Desk

Contact: Chad Clanton or Phil Singer, 202-464-2800, both of Kerry-Edwards 2004

WASHINGTON, Aug. 20 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Public records reveal that two of the people in the new "Swift Boat Veterans for Bush" television ad are Republican activists, as the fact sheet below shows. This is just more proof that Bush's Republican allies are the ones behind this disgraceful smear of John Kerry (news - web sites)'s military record. It's pretty clear what's going on here. It's no wonder the Bush campaign refuses to condemn this smear.

2. Unfortunately, ties are not enough
Surely, many of the people involved with moveon.org are Democratic activists. The MSNBC article does a good job showing the "coordination" standard necessary to prove a violation. Any evidence proving actual coordination would be most welcome. It is tough to show, because only the participants can provide such evidence.

14. Falsity is not the standard
Coordination is the key. Hopefully, we can find evidence of that.

15. Also, in politics it isn't necessary to prove anything
All that is necessary in this case is to completely discredit the Swift Boat Liars. That will have the double impact of backfiring on BushCo (because everybody knows it is a partisan ad) and reminding people of Kerry's truly honorable service in Vietnam.

It was a huge mistake for BushCo to launch this attack. In order to win the fight, BushCo has to strike a delicate balance between smearing Kerry and letting the entire truth out. The truth makes Bush look terrible and it makes Kerry look great.

Earlier this week I was worried that Kerry would let Bush get away with this, but Kerry has proven to be a fighter! I couldn't be happier.

By the time this fight is over, Bush and the Swift Boat Liars will be figuratively limping home to mama with bloody noses and missing teeth.

13. Does this count has evidence?

This is the front entrance at 1212 N. Main St. Gainesville FL

Looking through the glass doors you can see an easel, with announcements about upcoming events. On the right side of the display is the flyer for the Pro USA Political Rally.

This is a better picture of the flyer posted on the easel.

"Bush Campaign Caught Promoting "Swift Boat Vets for Truth"
While National Campaign Denies Coordination, Campaign in Florida Promotes Rally

Tallahassee -- On the same day that the Bush-Cheney campaign repeatedly denied coordinating attacks with the anti-Kerry group "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth," the Bush-Cheney campaign in Florida was caught promoting a rally in Gainesville for the group.

A flyer being distributed at the Alachua County Republican party headquarters, which doubles as the Bush-Cheney campaign headquarters for the county, promotes a weekend rally sponsored by "Swift Boat Vets for Truth, Veterans for Bush, Alachua Bush/Cheney Committee," and others.

17. MoveOn.org
is independent. As a political advocacy organization, it is dominated by Democrats the way that the NRA's political arm is dominated by Republicans. However, neither MoveOn nor the NRA are party tools, created as party tools. SwiftVetsforBigHairyLies is a covert action on the part of Republican operatives. A comparative organization would be if Kerry's team put together a Cocaine Snorters for Truth campaign, with W's old druggie friends telling how the Chimp-in-Chief used to hook them up with the really good stuff.

6. Didn't Oneill also consult with RNC people
in preparation for the attack ad. I read or heard today about several contacts O'Neill had with key BushI and BushII campaign personnel to discuss and plan the Swift boat ad campaign.

7. No one denies Republicans are behind the ads.
There are certainly no Democrats behind them. Of course Repugs, and Repug donators are behind the ads.

It's whether the Repug National Committee, or the Bush campaign, are behind them. That's what has to be shown, and if they are smart, or have covered their tracks, there is no paper/electronic trail between the groups.

8. Exactly, we know who is behind the ads
and i'm hoping that some interpid reporter somewhere is going to find the one piece of paper they didn't shred, i think it's only a matter of time before it all unravels.
