1. Damn... he is determined to exploit the Iraqi soccer team for all they are
worth. I'd love it if they very publically told him off on world-televised Olympic coverage.

3. Did you see the damning letter issued by the Olympic Comm.
today (I think)? I just heard the report today. They really slammed shrub for using the Iraqi team in a campaign ad. Said the Olympics own the rights to all that material and they didn't give permission to use it.

There were a few more slams. If I can find a link I'll post it.

42. I agree. It'll never happen.
The uproar would blow him outa the water. The Iraqi soccer team would turn their backs on him or boycott. The peninsula would erupt in protest. Let's be clear: the Greeks know how to protest.

34. Look at the quote from the Iraqi Olympic Committee advisor!!!
Mark Clark (who is British) says: “It is a little naughty,” he said. “The players are not very sophisticated politically; they are a little naive. Whoever posed these questions knew that the reaction would be negative.

“It is possible something was lost in translation. It’s a free, new Iraq, and the players are entitled to their opinions but we are disappointed.

WTF!!!!!

Didn't he hear the heckling of the US basketball team? It would be twenty times worse for him.

This will be like the Thanksgiving Turkey (Photo) Shoot. He'll fly in for a grinning photo op with a small-hand picked group of athletes and their medals. The athletes won't dare refuse to be used, it could cost them their upcoming endorsements.

Bush* will never show himself before an international crowd that he can't control.

At worst it's just a lie. No way in hell would the SS allow him anywhere near a huge crowd of people who hate his guts.

Extra security hassles will translate into fewer people wanting to attend the already sparsely attended Games. If Bush does this, I'd bet any U.S. city wanting to host upcoming games will get put back at the bottom of the pile.

61. U S vs Iraq
Now I do not know at this moment if the U S soccer team is winning or will be in medal play. Maybe Bush will go and watch as the U S plays Iraq. Any of you remember the movie "The Boys of Company C"? I would venture to say that old Whistle Ass will tell the coach for the U S men to lay down and let Iraq team win. Just like in the movie the General wanted those boys to lay down and let the Viet team win, but hey, what happened? American boys got pissed and won the game while the Generals were all trying to safe face with the Viet officials. By losing the soldiers would get a cozy detail, but by winning the soldiers would go to the front lines in Nam. Where the hell will Whistle Ass send these men? To Iraq? Because I am damn sure America will not lay down for anybody. Well, this is my simple explanation.
