July job figures decline in six swing states
** Note to Democrats -> The SleazeBoaters will drown on their own. Focus on voter's economic conditions! **

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/nation/2004-08-22-jobs-swing-states_x.htm

WASHINGTON — Twenty-two states reported a drop in payroll jobs last month, double the number for June, according to new Labor Department statistics. Among them were six of the states that could decide this fall's presidential election.
The declines in most cases were slight, but they drove home the frailty of the jobs recovery and highlighted risks to President Bush's re-election strategy. The White House has been counting on consistent, robust growth by now to restore confidence in the economy and counter grim news from Iraq.

The battleground states showing job losses in July were Florida, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Pennsylvania and New Mexico, according to Labor Department figures released Aug. 20. Battleground, or swing, states are those expected to be close in this fall's election, and they are drawing the bulk of both campaigns' attention.

9. It'll be too late by then
'cause they won't come out till after the election. September would be considered the "pivotal" if there was any way they could "pivot" but with this president, there will be no change since his domestic policies SUCK!

7. Missouri unemployment rate jumps
to 5.5 % that was the headline in Saturday's paper. Locally we're getting hammered by shutdowns and layoffs.

8. A Lot of Areas Are Getting Hammered
Even in Texas, Bush's home State. That is why so many Republicans have had it with Bush-Cheney, between the Iraq mess and the suck local economy problems, except of course for the top corporate execs, life is great for them!

11. I find it interesting...
That all these incremental numbers are so poor, and when the big numbers come out, the maladministration tells ups to pop the bottles, it's time to start partying.

There is a real disconnect somewhere.
