Kerry Campaign to Issue 'High Noon' Challenge to Bush ..
U.S. Newswire

Kerry Campaign to Issue 'High Noon' Challenge to Bush to Explain Why He is Making Life Harder for Middle-Class Families

On the same day that six million Americans will lose their overtime pay, the Kerry-Edwards campaign will challenge George W. Bush to explain why he is misleading America into thinking that he is good for working families when the reality is that he has made life harder for them.

The campaign will host a conference call today at HIGH NOON (12 p.m. EDT) to formally issue the challenge.

With the Bush campaign reportedly releasing another misleading ad tomorrow attacking John Kerry's plan to cut taxes for the middle class, the Kerry-Edwards campaign will pressure Bush to come clean about why he is shifting more of the tax burden on to working families, cutting overtime pay for six million people and covering up key details about his health care claims.

The campaign will also release a new report on what the impact of the new overtime rules will be on working families.

3. Yes! Take the issues to the shrub. He can't deal with them.
Show him up for the naked rat emperor he is!

We have to stop being pulled off topic by their silly shell game tactics. Leave a squad behind to clean up their stupid and groundless attacks and get our main people up front with the issues that really impact Americans! The junta can't take the truth.

This is great news to start our week.

6. Bring it on!
you f------bastards!!! Yeah.....let's hear why our health insurance premium rose 20% and our income did not. I'd like to hear his plan to get meds for my Bi-Polar daughter when her husband's insurance runs out after he's laid-off in October 'cause his job as a call center and account manager was terminated along with the whole department. . And how the (*&^(* is my son, a cook, supposed to pay his bills when his overtime is cut? And let's not forget my foster daughter who's in the Air Force............she's having trouble getting decent housing at her next assignment, not to mention that she might, as a mental health care worker, get sent to Iraq to care for all the soldiers suffering as a result of his (*&%(^%(& messed-up WAR!!!

I guess we're the poster family for all Bush's failures! Jesus help us.

11. It isn't about Vietnam
But it is about Bush deceiving America, just another aspect of it. That is where Bush needs to be hit. He lies in every area conceivable and that is what Kerry needs to pound away at. Whether it is the Swift Boat Liars, the fake WMD's , the bogus health and environmental plans, the lies about work related issues, etc., etc., etc, all we get is deception. That is the issue. Swift Boat lies are only a part of that. It is time for Kerry to connect the dots for the American public.

22. The Dem's "Willie Horton" ad for this year can only be one thing:
an ad showing "this is what he said" actual footage of bush, then "this is what he did" showing newspaper/other article/or something he said that contradicts it. Time after time after time he has misled the American people and he needs to be called out on that.

13. How to Pay Your Workers Less, by G.W. Bush
"Instead of working to help Americans as they struggle to get by in this troubled economy, the current administration even went so far as to create a "How-to-Guide" for employers to advise companies on how to get out of paying workers their earned overtime pay."

Pound on that. A manual, published with taxpayer dollars, that tells employers how to pay their hourly employees less.

21. My E Mail to the Viagra Shill
I am writing to express my utter dismay with Senator Dole's comments regarding John Kerry's injuries sustained in his service in Viet Nam.

I certainly expect Senator Dole to support his party and its candidate, but the comments made about Kerry's injuries are beyond the pale. Especially when made in service to a Republican candidate who has failed to serve in the same war.

It's unfortunate that Senator Dole has chosen to cap off an honorable life of public service as an opportunist, first as a shill for Viagra, and now for a spoiled elitist who sits back as ordinary Americans pay the price for his privilege.

26. Kerry on this issue?
I'm serious. My mother-in-law just got in town and was discussing this overtime issue. She said that Kerry wanted to do away with ALL overtime. She and alot of other people depend on overtime. Said brother-in-law was gathering info and links showing Kerry thinks this way.

I knew what GWB was doing. I haven't followed this issue in a long while. Can someone direct me in the right direction. It's been along time since I've done this kind of research so I'm really out of practice.

I wouldn't ask, but this sounds like the "it" issue with her, brother-in-law and a few others.

28. Where on earth did she get that?
Recent Kerry Press release:
Edwards Defends Overtime Work and Pay in Democratic Radio Address to the Nation
Washington, DC - Two days before the Bush administration’s latest assault on workers goes into effect and six million U.S. workers lose their right to overtime pay, Democratic Vice Presidential nominee John Edwards delivered the Democratic Radio address to the nation Saturday, pledging that a Kerry-Edwards administration will never turn its back on America’s workers.

Millions of families rely on overtime pay to pay their bills and make ends meet. Due to go into effect on Monday, August 23rd, the Bush overtime rules change the criteria for how employers determine overtime for their employees, eliminating federally mandated time-and-a-half pay after 40 hours in a week. This decision means that a huge number of workers are likely to lose their eligibility for overtime pay, including registered nurses, nursery school teachers, store and restaurant managers, and chefs. A new analysis by the non-partisan Economic Policy Institute estimates that the Bush administration’s actions will result in at least six million U.S. workers losing their right to overtime pay, making it even more difficult for hard-working Americans to get ahead.

Like massive tax cuts for the wealthy, wiping out overtime pay for workers goes against American values, and serves only the interests of the wealthy at the expense of hard-working Americans. The willingness of the Bush administration to turn its back on working Americans stands in clear contrast to the Kerry-Edwards economic plan which aims to strengthen the economy by putting middle-class families first.

. . the Kerry-Edwards campaign will challenge George W. Bush to explain why he is misleading America into thinking that he is good for working families when the reality is that he has made life harder for them.

Boy that will sure make Karl Rove hang his head in shame.

When I see this kind of stuff, I lose all hope.

We are dealing with the most corrupt bunch of liars in the world who are mounting attacks of unfounded lies on his basic character.

So, we're going to really challenge Bush. We'll ask him to explain why he persists in telling voters that he's good for America?

Give me a break. Please.

Getting back to the issues. They are now challenging Bush on the issues, which means if more SBVL bullshit ads come out, the onus is on the Bush campaign to stop them or else we can criticize him on continuing to dodge the issues.

If anyone brings up the swifboat Bush-lickers I'll just say, "Those losers? Gimme a break! Those liars were already discredited!"... they are history. Time to attack Bush on the issues - relentlessly. Kerry cannot waste anymore time playing Rove's games.

... this doesn't mean I won't stop making fun of Bush in a very mean spirited, underhanded way.
