Abu Ghraib; The Scandal Continues
An Army investigation into the Abu Ghraib prison scandal has found that military police dogs were used to frighten detained Iraqi teenagers as part of a sadistic game, one of many details in the forthcoming report that were provoking expressions of concern and disgust among Army officers briefed on the findings.

But the new report, according to Pentagon sources, will show that MPs were using their animals to make juveniles -- as young as 15 years old -- urinate on themselves as part of a competition.

"There were two MP dog handlers who did use dogs to threaten kids detained at Abu Ghraib," said an Army officer familiar with the report, one of two investigations on detainee abuse scheduled for release this week. "It has nothing to do with interrogation. It was just them on their own being weird."

Bad apples all over the place. And as for his "weird", I'd have called it "sadistic" or "psychopathic" or "incredibly cruel" at least.

2. I heard on CNN late tonight that S/Sgt. Chip Frederick's going to plead
guilty, and that he plans to name names of higher ranking officers, as it will be their plan to explain that although he did some of the things with which he is charged, he was under order to do them, and that this will sweep in officers not yet mentioned.

I hope it happens, and I hope he will be given COMPLETE security. His testimony could be wildly important, if I understand what was said tonight correctly.

3. How did these thugs get into our army?
While I'm sure the commanding officers are culpable in this whole mess, that should never excuse the Nazi-like atrocities committed by these enlistees.

The Nuremburg trials set a precedednt. Troops have an obligation to disobey orders which constitute crimes against humanity. That duty is a higher duty than any "oath" taken in the service of a nation state or any bullshit male bonding "code" within the military.

These stormtroopers and Nazi-like officers should spend a long time in jail. Anyone who sodomized children in captivity should be court martialed and put to death if found guilty.

5. At least 24 Secret Prisons.
At least 28 detainee deaths.

Rumsfailed Admitted to Violating Geneva Convention

Rumsfailed admitted in public that when CIA Director Tenet requested that an Irai prisoner be sent to a secret Afghan/US Prison that Rumsfailed did so. After four months a DOD Attorney stated that this was an illegal act. Rumsfailed then ordered that this prisoner be sent back to Abu Graib but the prisoner was not listed at that location. That is two violations of the Geneva Convention. Tenet and Rumsfailed violated the Geneva convention, thereby also The Constitution of the USA. Not one complaint or charge was made regarding Rumsfailed and Tenet, not even by any Dem in Congress.

Does the US no longer follow the Geneva Convention or the Constitution of the USA?

It appears so.
