Florida's presidential race looks like 2000
"WASHINGTON (CNN) -- If a recent poll holds true, Florida could have Americans biting their nails -- again -- as votes are counted in November's presidential election."

9. Nothing like an arbitrary deadline to put a complete halt on that
Democracy dismissed by the bureaucrats and overruled by the Flordia Supreme Court and upheld by five people on the SCOTUS (one of which has apparently changed his legal position on the matter).

Bygones....until bureaucrats try it again.

3. A few points
1. Any Nader voter in Florida deserves to be the first drafted into Baby Bush's army after he's elected.

2. If the Florida race looks like 2000 again, that's bad for Kerry. Republicans control all the machinery of state government in Florida and in a recount situation, all procedural decisions will favor Bush. The Florida Supreme Court is not as liberal as it used to be either. We need for the Florida race to look more like 1996, not 2000.

3. The Cuban vote for Bush may be just a sliver smaller than in 2000.

4. The Jewish vote for Kerry may be just a sliver smaller than for Gore in 2000.

5. The Muslim vote for Kerry will be much higher than their vote for Gore in 2000.

6. Kerry will need to win by at least 20,000 votes in Florida to actually win those 27 electoral votes. Anything less makes it close enough for them to steal.

7. There must be, and I believe there will be, a major watchdog operation in Flordia. Lawyers should blanket the state on election day, as well as international observers and Michael Moore's camera crews. There should also be some undercover observers. And if a bunch of fat-assed Republican staffers try to shut down a recount, big burly union men should be there to stop them. They will try to steal it, but if our side is vigilant, we can minimize the numbers of votes they steal.

5. Personally I think Kerry is ahead in Florida right now...by maybe
as many as 5%. Democrats have registered as new voters in this state 2-1 to Republicans. Palm Beach alone has added as many as 50,000 new voters with Democratic voters increasing.

The Kerry campaign needs to be down here talking about the over-time issue. Lots of people are pissed off about it. I have the issue plastered all over my web-site.

6. The election won't ride on Florida this time...

..Kerry is ahead in too many other states. As long as that holds, Florida won't be so important.

7. Gore won by a fair amount last time; his votes weren't counted
though and ain't NOBODY here that voted for Gore switching to Bush. So if we can get the votes properly counted this time, Florida won't be a problem--and NO butterfly ballots!

8. Votes don't win elections anymore - lawsuits do.
