Poland's embassy in Baghdad was hit twice by shells without causing any casualties, according to a foreign ministry spokesman in Warsaw.
"The shells were probably launched from a car. They hit the walls without injuring anyone or causing material damage," the spokesman Jaroslaw Drozd told the TVN24 news and information channel on Wednesday.
"The car was probably on a road parallel to the street on which is the embassy is based," he said, adding: "A chase and an inquiry were launched immediately."
Polish public opinion remains overwhelmingly opposed to Poland's participation in the US-led multinational force in Iraq.
