State Treasurer Mike Coffman announced the plan to create the Colorado Military Relief Fund on Tuesday.
It would provide need-based grants to help families during extended periods of deployment.

Coloradans would just check off a box on their state income tax forms to contribute to the program.

Ah yes, yet another Republican 'solution'. I'm quite sure every God-fearing, military-loving Republican in the state will 'check off' this box and this problem will immediately disappear </sarcasm>. T
God forbid we increase their taxes and pay military families enough to actually take care of their needs, or pay full time soldiers enough money that we can recruit enough so that the Guard won't be called on for years at a time.
