Bush Campaign Leader Chastises Kerry
United Press International

"The moment of truth for John Kerry has come and gone hundreds of times," Bush campaign chairman Marc Racicot said, alleging Kerry has passed up every opportunity to condemn Democratic efforts to divide America over the issue of military service.

"During the 1992 presidential campaign it was Kerry who said, 'We do not need to divide America over who served and how'," Racicot recalled. ..

"We call on John Kerry to join us in condemning all political activity by 527 groups," Racicot said. "There's no place in American politics for $63 million in third party activity that smears the president of the United States of America by accusing him of lying, condoning torture and poisoning pregnant women." ..

2. Hee-hee-hee!!! Now Racicot is reduced to parroting JK/JE...
... word for word!

Which strategy is this, "I'm Rubber/You're Glue" or "I Know You Are, But What Am I?"

Here's a meme for ya: The Bush campaign is falling to pieces.

15. Bush's faults are the inspriation of brain dead smear campaigns
Every smear on Kerry is a bizarro world perception of Bush. Bush's idiot faults are the inspiration.

Kerry is smeared with gaming the system to get out of vietname because Bush gamed the system to get in ANG. Kerry is smeared on whether he was in Cambodia because Bush disappeared from Alabama.

And Kerry is smeared on not denouncing ads, even though he has done so, while Bush is the one who accepts the benefit of the Slime Boat Vets without denouncing anything, except kerry.

The truth about Bush is worse than the biggest lie they can dream up about Kerry.

5. Yes, I whole-heartedly agree.

It's beyond the pale to point out things that the administration has actually said and done. What could we be thinking ?

9. They are COMPLETELY stealing Edwards' line!
Edited on Wed Aug-25-04 06:38 PM by wicket

"The moment of truth for John Kerry has come and gone hundreds of times,"

This sounds EXTREMELY SIMILAR to something John Edwards said over the weekend about Bush refusing to condemn the ads:

“The moment of truth came and went, and the president still couldn’t bring himself to do the right thing,”

They'd be lost without their betters to do the thinking for them!

All Bush has been able to accomplish while posing as an American President, is to reverse all the progress we've made, and get tens and tens of thousand of people killed for no good reason at all.

17. COOL! It worked! I never thought I would hear them admitting that!
"third party activity that smears the president of the United States of America by accusing him of lying, condoning torture and poisoning pregnant women." .."

They repeated some of the attack claims! Now that they've acknowledged that there are people who have several complaints about Bush, let's get into WHY the Bush administration thinks there's a problem with them.

Is it because the 527 groups are lying?

Let's look at the issues then...

*heh* - they don't want to go there.

Wait! What's that sound? Oh, it's the sound of Bush's ratings falling like a prostitutes knickers at a Republican convention.

19. Sounds as if Racicot is speaking in tongues, doesn't it?
He's just babbling. It sounds as if their consciences are starting to bother them, as he claims people are accusing pResident Bush of condoning torture, which is true for those of us who believe he did, and poisoning pregnant women might simply be an unconscious guilt concerning Bush's loosening the important safeguarded limits on things like mercury, which Bill Clinton so carefully sought to regulate.

Maybe Marc shouldn't try to speak "off the top of his head" too often. He's really not very good at it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just when you start debating how much or whether the president's military service record should be an issue in this campaign, you realize that the main reason it's an issue is that the president and his surrogates just won't stop lying about it.
This morning Bush campaign chairman Marc Racicot was interviewed by Juan Williams on NPR. When asked about the president's Air National Guard service he said, the president's and John Kerry's service "compare very favorably... He (i.e. the president) signed up for dangerous duty. He volunteered to go to Vietnam. He wasn’t selected to go, but nonetheless served his country very well …"
20. Rancid Racicot
Marc Racicot: Bush's Main Man
By JEFFREY ST. CLAIR/Counterpunch
Racicot served as governor of Montana from 1994 through 2000, where he slashed taxes, carried water for big timber, deregulated the state's electric utilities and moaned ceaselessly about the oppressive hand of the federal government.
Racicot slashed services and taxes, he also funneled what little money remained in the Montana treasury into costly projects that benefited political donors.
Racicot sank $100 million into the construction of new prisons, which were built by political donors. Montana is desperately looking to rent out its empty cells to other states.
Racicot pushed through a $400 million scheme to privatize Montana's mental health care system, the new program collapsed, pushing schizophrenics and other patients out onto the streets and off of needed medications.
Racicot dismantled the toughest clean water laws in the country in 1995 when he signed a bill backed by mining and oil companies which raised limits on the discharge of toxins and carcinogens into Montana's streams, allowed corporations the right to police their own conduct and at the behest of the coal methane producers expanded the luxury to foul groundwater to the very boundaries of polluter's property.
But perhaps the biggest fiasco of Racicot's tenure as governor was his role in deregulating Montana's electric utilities, Racicot's chief clients during those tumultuous early days of the Bush administration was in dire need of a well-placed hand: Enron.
Racicot was selected to head the RNC, he refused to drop Enron as a client. His efforts to protect Enron during its time of tribulation certainly paid off for the company's executives.
21. Olympic Committee Chastises Bush
Edited on Thu Aug-26-04 08:31 AM by floridapatriots
ATHENS (Reuters) - The U.S. Olympic Committee has asked the campaign to re-elect President Bush to pull an ad that refers to the Olympic Games, the International Olympic Committee said on Thursday.
The ad has angered Olympic officials because they feel it hijacks the Olympic brand -- a registered trademark -- even though it does not display the Games logo.
The U.S. Olympic Committee had asked the Bush election "campaign to withdraw the advertisement they are running," International Olympic Committee spokeswoman Giselle Davies told reporters.
