Gates gives $400K to stem cell group
Microsoft's Bill Gates has contributed $400,000 to the campaign supporting a California ballot initiative to fund embryonic stem cell and cloning research, according to a media report Wednesday

The Nov. 2 measure, Proposition 71, calls for a $3 billion bond issue to fund research over 10 years in California. Cloning projects solely for research would be funded, cloning programs to create babies would be barred.

Micosoft's (MSFT: news, chart, profile) Gates is the latest billionaire to contribute to the Prop. 71 campaign, the AP reported.

3. But did he give $$$ to KERRY
that would be a more prudent investment

Although perhaps he now believes that Kerry will win, and that the $$$ will be used?

5. eeeewwwww, what a MORAN !!!
I actually met the man back when Microsoft was 2 bldg's, and hubby worked there. He should have stayed, but thought the company was going no where because they produced nothing. You do not want to know what our shares would have been worth.

He had that Stanford MBA innocence and ethics about him I guess. What so few of us realized is that those who have made sooo much $$$ lately have produced NOTHING!

They just buy right and sell right (honestly or dishonestly).

Something about this paradigm stinks.
