I wonder what is deemed SHADOWY by Shrub......and is anyone else losing the ir respect for Mr McCain.......

"I'm very appreciative of the president's effort to do that," McCain said in an interview with The Associated Press. "I want to emphasize if I could that we're not saying that 527s should be abolished. We're just saying they should live under the same campaign finance restrictions (as hard money groups) because they are engaged in partisan activity."

McCain added: "I've said before I would like for the president to specifically condemn that ad, but the president has said John Kerry served honorably and also the president is now committed to acting to try to bring 527s into regulations that are appropriate."

2. Definitely losing respect.
How this man could hug the guy that smeared him so badly just 4 years ago is beyond me. McCain must be getting some kinda payoff. Either he's been promised Shrub's endorsement in 2008, a top cabinet position, or some plum deal for Arizona. Or maybe a cushy job for his wife or kids.

There were a lot of things I liked about McCain (his position on CFR, his willingness to be independent and not a pure party man, his constant campaign against pork barrel spending), but I think his recent displays have cost him any chance of getting support from moderates in the future.

3. The President does not like
shadowy ads that attack him. We'll see what he thinks about the 527 behemoth of rich corp. execs who have proclaimed readiness to attack Kerry next month.
