Poll: Protesters should be allowed(CNN 71% yes)
NEW YORK (AP)

Seventy-one percent of the city's registered voters think protesters should be allowed to demonstrate in Central Park during the Republican National Convention, and 11 percent plan to go to a demonstration themselves, according to a poll released Thursday.

Most New Yorkers, 81 percent, approve of lawful demonstrations during the convention, and 68 percent approve of nonviolent civil disobedience, the Quinnipiac University Poll found. (Sources: NYPD, protest group agree on rally site) ..

"The city is rolling out the red carpet for the Republican delegates, but most New Yorkers would roll out the green carpet of Central Park for the anti-Republican demonstrators," Maurice Carroll, director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, said in a statement. ..

5. Only 81% believe in lawful demonstrations?
I'd hope for better support for the First Amendment!

But, take what you can get, I guess.

10. Well, it only makes sense
If all of the protesters are in Central Park they're not in the streets blocking traffic. The proteseters get to do their thing and New Yorkers can get where they need to go. Sounds like a win-win to me!

12. Too bad, that nit-wit Mayor Bloomberg
refused to see it that way. He's more concerned about his precious lawn, than he is about human beings.
