Avoid anti-U.S. talk, Chavez told
From the liberal alternative to Drudge, http://rawstory.com

BBC NEWS - President Chavez celebrated triumphantly before supporters
Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez can work towards better ties with the US by avoiding inflammatory rhetoric, the US State Department has said.

Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage made the remarks at a ceremony to swear in a new US envoy for Caracas.

President Chavez meanwhile celebrated a referendum victory endorsing his rule by criticising the opposition groups that had campaigned against him.

He has previously accused the US of financing the opposition.

6. Shhh. It's true.
The US is avoiding direct criticism. It's just trying to overthrow him privately.

3. LOL! Why bother?
Chavez has survived a US-backed coup and a US-backed effort to Schwarzenegger him.

He seems to be doing all right without Richard Armitage being his bestest friend. ;-)

i'm sure he'll carry on but i wonder if that plays into the neoCONs hands by helping sell his mad-man, dangerous, enemy 'image' in the american media... which will be crucial if we 'must' invade to restore 'democracy'

peace
