Could the Bushistas want this city taken BEFORE the GOP Convention as a nice propaganda piece? It seems that the US has been entangled in this particular place for what seems like forever with no progress to report. If the city was taken, the news could be really played up at the convention.

There have been posts that say that the US does not target "civilians". Yes, there is no written "official" policy to kill and maim civilians but does anyone believe that continuously bombing houses in Iraqi cities is not killing "civilians"?
