Bush nephew backs off on INS
Presidential nephew George P. Bush, campaigning in Tucson Thursday, backed off his weekend charge that the U.S. Border Patrol's use of pepper-ball guns is "reprehensible" and "kind of barbarous."

In Mexico City Saturday, the youngest George Bush blamed the policy on "some local INS guy who's trying to be tough, act macho."

Bush did not apologize Thursday for his remarks but acknowledged that he misspoke in Mexico City, because there is a formal policy and agreement between the United States and Mexico covering the use of these less-than-lethal weapons. He said he didn't fully understand the U.S. policy when he attributed it to some local tough guy in the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

"I made an error and I accept it, but I think the larger issue is that it is something that shouldn't be happening, there shouldn't be this use of arms," he told Tucson reporters after a rally at the University Marriott for his uncle's re-election.

"There needs to be substantive reform so that folks can move back and forth, work and pay taxes and achieve the American dream. The amount of violence on the border is terrible and we just need more focus on the issue."

1. "Don't know the facts (which happens often)? Just say the politically
expedient thing."

It's practically the family motto.

2. and refuse to back down
this man is learning real fast. He is slime like his uncle and his dad. The entire family is nothing but a bunch of liars--there is something in the genes that denies them a conscience, I am convinced.

3. How many "George's" are in that family?
Doesn't it get rather confusing at family get togethers?

7. George P's Mother....
admitted she smuggled in over $17,000 goods when she returned from France without paying tariffs. Just your typical American family, right? She didn't want her husband to know how much she spent. $17,000 in smuggled goods? Many Americans don't earn $17,000 in annual pay. Just your average family, right.

11. that's fine!
and if anyone gets off a plane without the proper documents, ship that person right back before the plane takes off for the return trip.

PS I don't think Canadians like to come here that much except for warm USA spots during winter. Since they have to keep their residency requirements in effect to keep their national health care, they have no long term interest in making the US a permanent residence.

12. Then tell our government to
stop subsidizing crops, especially corn, that we export into Mexico. It is so heavily susidized that Mexicans can't sell what they grow there to their own people as cheaply as the US imports.

Get rid of NAFTA and allow all people to make a real living from their labors in their own home region.

19. agree
I think NAFTA and some of the other trade agreements are the WORST thing this country ever did. Especially with Bush not enforcing agreement violations against the US. I think we should be rescinding these agreements and/or tightening them up substantially and bringing manufacturing jobs back to this country...but it may be too late. WHen I look at the jobs gone out of this country and the suffering of those who have lost their jobs and homes, it drives me NUTS! A lot of the people who have lost out, both on manufacturing and non-manufacturing jobs, will never recover. Free trade sounds good on paper.

18. One big happy family
t's time for..."Guess which Bush is in Jail!"

Is it grandaddy Prescott Bush for illegally trading with the Nazis during WWII?

Is it daddy Bush for his Iran-Contra crimes?

Is it the man some call President of the United States for his drunken driving convictions, and being AWOL from the military during the Vietnam War?

Is it Laura Bush for killing her ex-boyfriend?

Is it Jenna or Barbara, the Tequila Twins, for their numerous alcohol arrests and convictions?

Is it Jeb Bush's wife, Columba, who was convicted of smuggling diamonds into the U.S.?

Is it Jeb's son, George Pee Bush, for stalking an ex-girlfriend and convicted of vandalizing her house?

Is it Jeb's other son who was convicted of statutory rape and illegal sex with a minor?

Is it Kneel Bush, convicted of swindling millions of dollars in the Silverado Savings and Loan scandal of the 1980s?

EEEENNH wrong!

It's Jeb's daughter, Noelle, for using illegal drugs!

The Bush Family Evil Empire ... A family riddled with numerous repeated arrests, substance-abusing convicted criminals and jailbirds.

The Bush family .... U.S. family values at their best.

20. got anything on Barbara Bush
also known as George 1's wife "Bar."

She gave birth to all these sociopaths. What I find laughable is that many people really admire her.

21. Hey, guess what? I DON'T WANT TO HEAR FROM ANOTHER bUSH."
I have heard WAY MORE than I EVER wanted to hear from ANYONE with that surname by now. They have HAD their day. They have monopolized the mikes and cameras for FAR too long. I couldn't be LESS interested in ANY utterance, large OR small, that slithers off their forked tongues. I hope they ALL go away. I'd love to see the whole loathesome lot of them packed up and sent to Fallujah.
