President to woo alienated Muslims
NEW YORK — President Bush will try to win back the vote of Muslim citizens in America this fall, despite the apparently severe erosion of that voting bloc after taking the United States into war against Iraq, Bush campaign Chairman Marc Racicot said yesterday.

"I do think that we are just coming as a country to know and understand Islam," said Mr. Racicot, a former Montana governor and close friend to Mr. Bush. "And I think once we understand, we're fine with respecting and engaging with virtually all of our fellow citizens.

"But I'm not sure we're as far along in that process of maturation, in becoming as familiar with and knowledgeable about them as we need to be," he said during a luncheon with reporters at a Times Square hotel.

(snip)

"We got close to 75 percent of the vote in 2000, at least in certain parts of the country like Dearborn, Michigan. And I know the numbers are much, much closer than they were then," he said. "There is some polling that reveals that the numbers aren't quite the same as they were in 2000."

2. if by "woo", he means "bomb and torture"
like they're currently doing, that's probably not the best idea.. or at least not one to sanely expect positive results for.

6. Yeah right, Muslims to vote Bush again. I like to see these folks vote
themselves in to Gitmo. What a lie these scary funking liars are. It is true that some 90% of the Muslim vote went to Bush in Florida 2000, because Bush told them during a debate with Gore that we, He (Bush) wanted to not just focus on racial profiling, but that we (he Bush) must stop profiling the muslim community. It sent a tidal wave through the Islamic press in the U.S. to vote Bush. At the time, Clinton, who was doing his job at fighting terror, had endorsed a plan for ethnic screenings at air ports. If you know a Muslim, tell them that Bush is totally full of shit. He is only interested in your religion if you have lots of oil.

7. Sure, he's gonna love them to pieces.
Maybe he should have taken a little time to get "to know and understand Islam" before he decided to start his war.

"There is some polling that reveals that the numbers aren't quite the same as they were in 2000." Gee, genius-ya think?
