Columnist Has Ties to Anti-Kerry Book -NYT (Novak's son)
Among the stoutest defenders of "Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry," the best-selling book arguing that Mr. Kerry lied about his record of service in Vietnam, is the columnist Robert Novak.

In his syndicated columns and on the CNN program "Crossfire," Mr. Novak has lauded the book and referred to veterans who criticize Mr. Kerry - most notably John E. O'Neill, the book's co-author - as "real patriots."

Unmentioned in Mr. Novak's columns and television appearances, however, is a personal connection he has to the book: his son, Alex Novak, is the director of marketing for its publisher, the conservative publishing house Regnery.

In a telephone interview, Robert Novak said he saw no need to disclose the link.

"I don't think it's relevant," he said....MORE....

15. no outrage..
They can do this over and over again because democrats are too nice, oh they say that is not nice, but lets discuss issues we don't need to waste our time protesting or complaining, much better to put on a show where we take the "high" road. There was a guest on Air America the other day that lost his spot on a paper because 500 people sent emails and the paper claimed they did not want to put up with 500 emails - that's it 500 freepers and the guy is gone, the same would happen if 500 democrats would complain but unfortunately they like to "discuss" issues rather waste their time complaining. Until democrats become patriotic enough to stop discussing and start taking action to win our country back we are doomed to this kind of irregularities. We all know the bush coward is behind this , we all know the bush coward is afraid to stand up and discuss what HE did during the Vietnam era but how many are demanding he come out from hiding and stand up like a man to show America what HE did during this time?

26. you are advocating an unfair position
you say the dem lost his job because freepers were jerks so you want us to be jerks.

its not the dems, its the media. For the last 20 years republicans have convinced Americans that the media are liberal. They are now so afraid to "appear" liberal they have gone over to the other side.

You are right about sending emails. If I find his boss' email addy I'll drop 'em a line.

31. Dem activists==Agnostic, Big Ideas, antisocial; GOP activists==religious
There may be a reason why GOP activists are more effective: they are more socially oriented. This shows in their propensity for religious belief, as opposed to the Dem activists' propensity for agnosticism/atheism--IN GENERAL.

A recent study of psychological profiles of atheists vs believers showed that atheists tend to need other people less. They are more into Ideas, reading, isolated pursuits, and they are somewhat less conformist--IN GENERAL.

Believers are more likely to need other people, and to be more social, more conformist--IN GENERAL.

27. Correct,
believe no first amendment protection here. Think
Mr. Novak accessory-after-the-fact and should be
prosecuted along with his source. When and IF
this crime is prosecuted. That IF seems to be
more and more likely each passing day.

Novak has a son. That means some woman, at some point in time, got on her back (because we all know that' the only position 99 percent of Repug men know) and let ROBERT NOVAK crawl on top of her and do the deed. Words can simply not desribe just how disgusting that must have been.

20. More evidence that CNN is a complete sellout to the BFEE
Letting Novak shill the Swift Liars' book when his son stands to gain is yet another reason to quit watching CNN. I've mostly stayed away since the balloon/microphone incident at the end of the DNC last month. It' good that Aaron Brown is still there, but it's only a small consolation.

CNN has withered under continuous Freeper/Dittohead attacks to the point of near-worthlessness as a news source. Since they won't listen to reason, we'll have to keep bombarding them with email, letters, and phone calls until they decide to play fair. I've sent six so far and plan on doing it at least once a week. I hope others here are doing the same or better.

Robert Hanssen.

Hanssen was a spy and a TRAITOR of course. So Robert Novak has zero wiggle room about naming sources- or defending the Executive Branch uber alles treasonous bullshit either.

29. Novak is an ethics-free zone.
Edited on Mon Aug-30-04 11:07 AM by CBHagman
He tries to pass off John O'Neill as an earnest supporter of John Edwards, conveniently forgetting O'Neill's history both as Kerry's opponent and as a Nixon recruit in the effort against Kerry. He tries to pass off "Unfit for Command" as a nonpartisan tome. He outs Valerie Plame, apparently without remorse and without consequence.

Maybe CNN, the Washington Post, and a few others need to be taken to task about this. They won't fire his unethical little behind, because they are soulless, principleless, godless corporations interested only in the bottom line (and anything that would bash Bill Clinton), but they might be shaken up a bit.

You could try the ombudsman at the Washington Post.
