Tight Presidential Race Still Developing In U.S.
(CPOD) Aug. 30, 2004 – George W. Bush keeps a slight advantage in the 2004 United States presidential race, according to a poll by NBC News and the Wall Street Journal. 47 per cent of respondents would vote for the Republican incumbent, while 45 per cent would support Democratic nominee John Kerry. Independent candidate Ralph Nader garners the support of three per cent of respondents.

(CPOD) Aug. 29, 2004 – The Democratic ticket of John Kerry and John Edwards holds a slight edge in the 2004 United States presidential election, according to a poll by the Tarrance Group. 49 per cent of respondents would vote for the Democratic challengers, while 47 per cent would support Republican incumbents George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. Two per cent of respondents would vote for independent candidate Ralph Nader and running mate Peter Camejo.

Bush and Dick Cheney keep a slim lead nationally in the 2004 United States presidential election, according to a poll by Gallup released by CNN and USA Today. 48 per cent of respondents would vote for the Republican incumbents, while 46 per cent would support the Democratic ticket of John Kerry and John Edwards. Independent candidate Ralph Nader and running mate Peter Camejo garner the support of four per cent of respondents. Backing for the Republicans and Democrats remained stable since mid-August.

Kerry Has Edge Over Bush On Issues
(CPOD) Aug. 28, 2004 – John Kerry holds an advantage over George W. Bush in six key issues for United States voters, according to a poll by Opinion Dynamics released by Fox News. 50 per cent of respondents believe the Democratic nominee would perform better protecting and creating jobs. Kerry is also regarded as a good politician to deal with the economy, social security, same-sex marriage, gas prices and prescription drug benefits. Respondents were almost evenly divided on which candidate would be more suitable to appoint justices to the Supreme Court. Bush leads in four other categories. 50 per cent of respondents think the Republican incumbent would do a better job in the war on terror. Bush also receives more positive responses in dealing with the situation in Iraq, facing a national crisis and improving intelligence operations.

(CPOD) Aug. 27, 2004 – George W. Bush holds the upper hand in four character traits among United States voters, according to a poll by the Tarrance Group. More than half of all respondents think the Republican incumbent is a steady and strong leader who says what he believes. Bush is also regarded as an honest and trustworthy politician. Respondents were almost evenly split on which candidate represents their values and has plans to deal with the problems facing the country. Democratic nominee John Kerry leads Bush in two categories. 50 per cent of respondents believe Kerry will lead the country in the right direction, and 48 per cent say he cares about the average American.

Bush holds a slight advantage in the state of Florida, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports. 49 per cent of respondents would vote for the Republican incumbent in the 2004 United States presidential election, while 47 per cent would support Democratic nominee John Kerry. Two per cent of respondents would vote for independent candidate Ralph Nader. Michael Badnarik of the Libertarian Party and David Cobb of the Green Party each garner the support of one per cent of respondents.

Bush holds the lead in the state of Missouri, according to a poll by the Los Angeles Times. 46 per cent of respondents would vote for the Republican incumbent in the 2004 United States presidential election, while 42 per cent would support Democratic nominee John Kerry. Three per cent of respondents would vote for independent candidate Ralph Nader, while nine per cent remain undecided.
