3. not that Chimp voters care ....
Voters such as Gloria Smith explain this political dynamic. While Smith's husband, who works for American Airlines, recently took an $800 monthly pay cut, the homemaker from Sand Springs, Okla., just changed her voter registration from Democrat to Republican.

Smith said her family was "better off" than it was four years ago, "because we've learned to live within our means."

6. Wonderif she'll feel the same way if American goes out of business
and that $800/mo pay cut turns into NO PAYCHECK AT ALL? Believe me, I know how bad the airline industry is. My son works for one of the majors, and all their employees received a letter last week telling them to prepare for a pay cut. There were several articles last week speculating that US Airways could have to declare bankruptcy AGAIN, and the judge could demand Chapter 7 and liquidation this time. This lady should think very hard about who she casts her vote for in November. It doesn't matter what her registration is, it's her future she should be thinking about.

8. That is bizarre reasoning
Some kind of cognitive dissonance at work here, I think.
