US soldier killed, 2 wounded in roadside bomb attack
BAGHDAD, Aug. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- One US soldier was killed and two others were wounded when their convoy was attacked by a roadsidebomb in northern Iraq, the US military said on Monday.

The incident happened Sunday south of Mosul, 360 kilometersnorthwest of Baghdad, the military said in a statement.

"The injured soldiers were evacuated to the US Army combatsupport hospital in Mosul where one was released and the other isin stable condition," the statement said.

An average of 2.00 US deaths/day through 9/11 would break 1,000. Since August has averaged 2.07 US deaths/day, they're right on track.
