Voters upset by Iraq will stick with Bush to win war, Rove says
NEW YORK (AP)

Battleground state voters unhappy with the situation in Iraq will stick with President Bush in November because they "want to win the war," his chief political strategist said Monday.

Presidential strategist Karl Rove acknowledged that Iraq could be a political liability in key swing states where the election will likely be won, like Pennsylvania, Florida and Arizona. But ultimately, he said, voters will pick Bush over Democrat John Kerry because they want a steady leader instead of "somebody who's going to be nuanced and sophisticated and going back and forth." ..

ion.

Let's just keep reelected the guy who bungled us into this mess in the first place, even though he opposes nation-building.

Prays that Bush will not be held accountable again. "Hard to imagine the electorate being quite that stupid, but polls don't lie," mused Turd Blossom.

Maybe Rove has been inside the beltway for too long and he's forgotten what reality looks like.

9. Somehow this doesn't smell like the American way to me
As I see it, if a guy lies and tricks everybody into doing something really bad, like invading a defenseless country and killing thousands of people for nothing, then the majority of the voters would probably want to get rid of the guy at the first opportunity.

28. Why indeed. But what if the question were something else
Such as what? What is George Bush going to do about Iraq? Or where?

Where, oh where is George Bush going to find support for Iraq once all the countries participating in the "catastrophic success" have pulled out?

Or how. How is George Bush going to handle the wave of anti-Americanism that is spreading throughout the world for international policies that clearly favor Israel over any and all comers?

And when. When is George Bush going to finally be revealed as the absolute fraud that he is?

23. The grand orchestration
of Bush's Convention has devolved to this? Not with a bang but a whimper.

I wish someone would call them on orchestrating military operations in Iraq, the SWBV campaign, the anti-demonstrator meme, odd drop in gas prices, and a number of other things that are despicable and murderously treasonable for the sole purpose of this non-event to make Bush look good in NYC.

I think the deaths in Iraq the past month at least were all unnecessary
clamp downs to keep things quiet which is why they went so badly. Now, as if by miracle, they(in theory) will vanish from the media radar, troops will stand down, ceasefires will be respected.

Of course the media can't possibly imagine such a blatantly disgusting move by our fearless freep leader.

20. The "but" factor
All the GOP analysts trying to boost Bush start out about all the negatives then get to several hilarious "but" statements. "But" statements are a defensive mark of a loser in Fantasyland. I listened to a NY radio show with tow stalwart GOPers, and it was informative to listen to their gripes, humor and list of Bush's shortcomings THEN follow with the "but" statements, reinterpreting the polls, rearranging the tea leaves with contradictory calm confidence.

I hope they ARE that out of tune with reality until it's too late.

21. Hey, Don't sell Rove short on his political strategy
The Vietnam war was unwinnable and the idiots in the U.S. kept electing presidents who said they would "win it" or at least have "peace with honor" for ten more fucking years.

As P.T.Barnum said: "No one ever went broke underestimating the stupidity of Americans"
