The Republican convention is something of a political coming-out party for President Bush's twin daughters, who have only recently begun campaigning for their father. Their grandmother said Monday she is surprised they showed up at all.

12. Jesus, the Grandma role is the sweet role. You don't have to tell the

kids to pick up, stand up straight, smile, etc. That is Mom and Dad's role but not at 22 years old.

Grandparents get to do the unconditional love bit. Spoil them and enjoy them, and then send them home. Let them have a loving view of you for the rest of their lives, not as the shrew who won't back off.

I don't have twins, but if I did, I'd have raised them as individuals. These two are adults, not even identical. Apparently, they were raised as a matched set, and probably even dressed alike.

Laura sounds like a case of OCD. I lived with one of those for many years. When you have to worry about vacuum cleaner lines on the rug, you're in trouble. She's probably a hand-washer, too.

I have never heard her speak nice about anyone and she hasn't even changed this nasty part of her character when it comes to her granddaughters. If I were to do this to one of my grandchildren, they would never speak to me again.

She is incapable of speaking proudly of two young ladies that should be a very important part of her life (family values and all that). She could have been a wee bit warmer about her interactions with the girls instead of acting like a harpie and a pimp for them. I am sure that grandma will be looking for just the right young men that will mate with the twins to insure that the illustrious Bush genes go forth.
