Tom Morello Rages Against Bush, Republicans
CLEVELAND (Billboard)

Billed as the Nightwatchman, Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello is taking his acoustic guitar, three chords and the truth on the road this fall for more than half of the 20-date Rock Against Bush tour, which features such punk acts as Anti-Flag, Midtown and Mike Park.

"I've been rocking against Bush for quite some time," Morello told Billboard.com. "I'm good friends with Anti- Flag, as well as a fan of PunkVoter, which is the sponsor of the tour. I wanted to do my part during this very crucial juncture in American history to help fight the power and to make sure that in these very, very dangerous times that the truth gets out about this administration before the election and that we can galvanize our forces as much as possible, because Bush must go."

In addition, Morello is performing throughout the duration of the Republican National Convention in New York, including a show Tuesday at the Knitting Factory and a performance at a labor rally on Wednesday. ..

2. Is he rocking against bush as much as he did Gore in '00?
I realized when Rage Against The Machine played out in protest of the Dem convention in '00 but didn't bother with the republican convention, just how full of it they were. And it's their right to do that. But then don't complain to me about how bad bush is now if you in any way helped him get elected or in any way contributed to the media and RNC driven meme that there was no difference between Gore and Bush.

And this is coming from someone (me) who wasn't even a huge Gore fan. But if I could see the vast chasm of differences, there's no excuse for a smart guy like Morello to fall for the bullshit.

4. Excuse me? "All of us were anti-Gore"?
I said I wasn't a huge fan of Gore but I was nowhere near anti-Gore. When the choice was Bush and Gore the choice was clear. Anyone who did a modicum of research knew this to be the case. Like I said, someone as aware and well read and intelligent as Morello should have known this. And people who were willing to roll the dice on the "no difference" spot on the craps table were playing with my future. And they assisted in the country crapping out.

If they realize the error of their ways on it than fine. But don't try and make like it never happened and that he's somehow on the vanguard of anti-bush sentiment.
