(Seattle) It's OK - You Can Forget The Extra Stamp On Your Absentee Ballot
http://komotv.com/stories/32807.htm

... Remember when I told you 37 cents is what you needed to make your vote count? Wrong.

The Post Office says you'll need to pay 60 cents for postage. This year's ballots weigh an ounce or two more than anyone thought they would. It appears the folks at King County Elections weighed the ballots before they sent them to you, but they must have used a different scale than the Post Office.

So now you're thinking what John Shubin's thinking. "Will it be mailed back to me?" Shubin asks.

The good news is, no. The Post Office will NOT send back your ballot. Your vote will count.

Uh-huh, we say.

2. I think this is showing the flakiness of USPS scales
The scales they use at the post office can weight anything from 1 oz to around 50 pounds - it isn't surprising they may be a little off for things right around 1 oz - the Election office said they checked the ballots and according to their scales they were less than 1 oz.
