Michael Moore Draws Boos at Convention

2 hours, 21 minutes ago

NEW YORK - Already a box office sensation, filmmaker Michael Moore got another loud reception Monday at the Republican convention. This time, it was boos.

When Sen. John McCain (news, bio, voting record), R-Ariz., told the delegates about "a disingenuous film maker who would have us believe that Saddam's Iraq (news - web sites) was an oasis of peace," they knew he was referring to the maker of "Fahrenheit 9-11." The film, which savages Bush's Iraq policy, has set a box office record for documentaries, grossing $115 million so far.

After him and Dole, are there any respectable repubs left?

12. Any politician who is a repuke has surely sold his soul to Satan!
This I'm sure of. But I do believe there are many American citizens who honestly don't know what's going on; the don't have time to pay attention; they just listen to the Network Media Whore lies... and thus that's how repukes get 30% of their total votes. Whether or not God will accept their ignorance plea is going to be the most interesting thing I'm going to see in Heaven. (Besides who assassinated JFK, RFK, and MLK.)

37. It's a shame to see
McCain with his head down, tail between his legs. I used to admire him but have lost all respect for this hero, who has become a coward in my eyes. The sooner he's gone the better and make no mistake "Bush the Betrayer" will do him in just like he did in his buddy Saddam and just as his Daddy did in his buddy Noriega.

Please pardon my spelling.

10. McCain's Lost My Respect
Edited on Tue Aug-31-04 01:03 AM by Erika
He and his family were most hurt by a Bushie team after New Hampshire. How he could forgive or forget that is beyond me. I donated to him in the past but I wouldn't give him a plug nickle now.

He's a scab.

...and McCain is a lying scumbag for spreading this kind of disinformation.

- I'm surprised that McCain didn't call Moore a 'Saddam Lover' for having the nerve to oppose the war crimes committed in Iraq.

28. Oh, my God!
That picture is so embarrassing to McCain. Forget me ever thinking McCain was a real man. For him to debase himself with this pandering is downright humiliating to him. What was he thinking? Oh, but didn't we hear from all the media whores how it was "so creepy how Kerry and Edwards were always touching each other?" McCain looks like he's ready to get down on W if he asks. Yuck!! I have to go purge this image from my eyes and brain now.

27. Moore is LOVING this.
Check it out, from the Washington Post:

"'Hey, the film's doing $120 million right now,' Moore said. 'When McCain mentions it, I have a chance to do $150 million. It just creates more interest, more excitement.' "

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A48292-2004Aug31.html

Sounds like Moore's caused more of a stir at this convention than any of the big Gooper names so far. Hee!

32. "oasis of peace"
Michael Moore was NOT trying to portray Iraq under Saddam as an oasis of peace in F9/11. The images of smiling Iraqis was simply to show that the Iraqis were people too, making the best of their lives with a brutal dictator on the one hand and an impending U.S. invasion on the other. Some of those people shown in the movie are probably dead now. But a despicable Repub like McCain wouldn't care much about that.

35. McCain admitted to Tweety that he had never watched the movie
Just after his wacko stupid speech. Then he agreed with Matthews that the major theme of most of the film, that those in power are seldom the ones to sacrifice their sons and daughters in war, was basically true.

So, Faust, you lie with rotten fish, you stink too. McCain, you sold your soul, and the devil will someday come back to reclaim it.

McCain is completely unbalanced and irrational. He's all over the place with conflicting statements. I almost feel sorry for the poor bastard. If that picture of him hugging the anti-christ doesn't give you the creeps, nothing ever will.
