Santorum shines with conservatives despite moderate convention stars
snip.........

Santorum plans to give a speech from the convention's podium Wednesday night that will focus on helping the poor through faith-based programs - a tenet of the Bush administration's social platform.

He was hastily added to the convention's speech roster - which includes moderates California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Democratic Sen. Zell Miller of Georgia - after conservatives howled about not having enough of their voices at the podium.

snip......

Santorum, the third-ranked Republican in the Senate, has made little secret of his ambitions for higher office. He is eyeing a run for Senate majority leader when Bill Frist steps down from that post in 2006, and is said to be considering his own White House bid.

snip......

"If his talk is stupid, I may just leave the seats and go back and get some Gatorade, because I'll need the energy," said California delegate Frank Ricchiazzi, the co-founder of the gay Log Cabin Republicans. "He's terrible. If he's got any thought of going beyond the Senate, he's in fantasy land."

Wowzers! The Log Cabin Republicans are really getting vocal this year. Lets hope they're finally coming to their senses.

They have put a lot of flip flops into getting the gay vote, it should cost them.

7. Santorum on dogs
I still believe that legislation is needed to: address canine breeding practices; require socialization standards; and encourage swift and strong enforcement against repeat offenders. That is why, in October 2001, I introduced S. 1478, the Puppy Protection Act. This legislation would prevent overbreeding of female dogs, which harms their health. For instance, overbreeding of female dogs tends to cause severe nutritional deficiencies and impairment of a dog's immune system.........

DIRKSEN SENATE OFFICE BUILDING.......

The glittering event in the Senate's Dirksen building reflected Mr Moon's extraordinary influence in US politics. He owns the conservative newspaper the Washington Times and the US news agency United Press International.

Boston, assistant director of communications for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, pointed out the "faith-based summit" was actually held in Washington, D.C. and down-linked by satellite to more than forty participating sites. The summit was organized by a number of leading GOP congressional figures including Bush's faith-based point-men, now former Rep. J.C. Watts (R-Okla.) and Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.). And, "efforts to promote it at the grassroots level were turned over to a Moon organization," which Boston writes, gave them "an official relationship with the Republican leadership" and this "enhanced status enabled him to do grassroots political organizing - and religious recruitment - with the apparent blessing of Bush and his GOP allies in Congress."

10. So what? They are both mentally defective and traitors to our constitution
One is worse than the other? They passed the point of sanity long ago so does it really make a difference?

13. The difference is minute.
The invocation of McCain as a "voice of reason" is where the absurdity begins. It's an obvious political ploy. His actions are diametrically opposed to his "sane and soothing moderation."
