Michael Moore Plans Return to Convention

MEGAN COSSEY

Associated Press

NEW YORK - Filmmaker Michael Moore said he will return to the Republican National Convention where delegates roundly booed his presence on opening night.

snip.......

"I now know what the Christians probably felt like walking into the Coliseum," Moore said Tuesday in an interview with The Associated Press.

Moore, who seemed to relish the tumult, said he would return despite the chilly reception "because I'm here to cover the convention and I'm here to write about what I see."

snip...

Ullmann (Moore's USA Today editor) initially said that Moore would not be returning to Madison Square Garden. But he later said, in the end, the columnist has "to speak for himself."

8. Yeah, those booing Christians, they are such a peaceful godly bunch.
I hate Christians, they are the most unkind, hypocritical, rude, oppressive, bigoted group of people that have turned me off to God forever. I'll say it for the hundredth time, I'd rather spend eternity in hell than with a Christan.

12. Think of all the neat people you can spend time with in hell
instead of in heaven next to all sorts of criminals who have been "saved" because they repeated a sentence and accepted Jesus.

17. Do you hate even the Christians that don't practice
bigotry and use the religion to practice acts of kindness and charity? believe it or not they do exist they just don't get the air time they deserve.

19. I've heard of those kinds of Christians
but I've yet to meet them. Seriously. And you're talking to a person who has made four out of seven sacraments (so far). I've attented Catholic and Episcopal Churches.

I left the Episcopal Church when a Bishop was caught embezzling and everyone just forgave him. Just like that. There were no questions about his ability to be a moral leader - nothing. No criminal charges either.

Then my Catholic Church was involved in the molestation scandle.

I hear about these churches that have food pantries and help homeless people, but I've yet to actually meet one. What I have met instead was very troubling.

22. Well right now you're talking to a Catholic
who supports gay rights who supports abortion rights, and who despises the leadership of the Catholic church.

Just out of curiosity do you also hate all Muslims because of the bad apples in their barrel as well?

Granted ALL religious groups have their leaders that need to get out of power and the sheeple who follow them need a reality check, but I think it's way over the top to be hating any sort of group for the deeds or misdeeds of few.

32. I hear ya, I respect that you and I can differ on this one
I tell myself I'm part of the religion not the governing board of man that profess to protect and create rules of which the religion is to follow. So in a sense I guess I go through the motions and so forth but at the same time no one tells me who to vote for or what to believe.

20. ya know, Catfight
I have to admit that you have actually put in print what I have thought so many times especially "Christians ... have turned me off to God forever."

It's gotten to the point that when people say: have a blessed day, I almost retort, please don't jinx/hex me.

I was raised a good Episcopalian; and my poor Mom -- gone 5 years this week -- is probably turning in her grave over what I have come to and my thoughts on religion. But I agree wholeheartedly with you :hi:

11. As if anyone needed proof of the impact of the film - last night was
it - was anyone surprised that it was McCain who set off the booing?

The DVD/video is due out soon - buy an extra for circulation for those who couldn't afford the ticket money or the time.

in F9/11!! I love it - damn fools. Republicans generally seem to be as stupid (bandaids, booing Moore etc...) as the Dumbster is specifically stupid.

28. Mike Moore is facing the big guns on the Ho Chi Mihn Trail now.
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 12:05 AM by DemoTex
OK, you say. GO! I did it almost 250 times. It is not easy to fly down the barrel of the enemy's big guns. Mike got shot up bad yesterday. Second day back on a bad target is a charm. Mike knows how, now, to jink his enemy. But he is like one little brave F-4 rolling in on target. No, he is like a flight of 4 F-4s, as effective as eight ... rolling in on a target. Snake & nape Mike, cleared in hot.

30. Anyone new to American politics would have seen that display
of hatred launched at Michael Moore the other night, with the frenzied rattling and hissing from the audience as living proof of a very large sickness in that room.

They have been fired up by their masters, haven't they? Pity.

Hope Michael Moore lives to be a very old, accident and harmful incident-free beloved friend of ordinary, non-hysterical Americans everywhere.
