Betty Castor, 361,332 - 65 percent

Peter Deutsch, 122,650 - 22 percent

Alex Penelas, 47,729 - 9 percent

Betty Castor's answers during the televised debate were terrible. Peter Deutsch blew her away and that is why I voted for him. Betty seemed to be all for the war in Iraq and it really turned me off.

But Martinez probably has the edge, especially considering his ethnicity and the fact that FL has been trending Republican in recent years. She will at the very least be able to give Martinez a run for his money.

Not many Democrats have won state-wide office there recently (Nelson was the last, winning his Senate seat in 2000). Martinez also has an advantage in his ethnicity. Yes the Cubans usually vote for Republicans, but other hispanics may also cross over to vote for someoen with a Spanish name.
